What is eight meters long, three meters wide and a real eye-catcher? The largest variant of the vhf Active Pro! This CNC milling machine – which is available in different sizes depending on production needs – has become a permanent part of the manufacturing process at the Swiss headquarters of CORATEC AG. “Large-format sandwich panels can not only be loaded quickly but also machined with great precision.” says CEO Rolf Affolter. 💯

Due to its size, the machine was assembled and commissioned directly on site by the vhf team. It processes different workpieces efficiently in a single operation – without re-clamping or repeated positioning. Operation is also straightforward: Machine operators at Coratec AG can do adjustments directly at the machine, without having to modify their own programs.

My name is Alexander Berger, and I have been working as a Technical Content Creator for videos and photos at vhf since November 2021.

Sounds exciting? For good reason. Here, I’ve found a workplace where I can apply my interest in technology, imagery, and video in a professional setting. It’s not always easy to describe my day-to-day work – mainly because it depends heavily on the specific projects. My typical tasks range from customer reference videos and short promo films to managing our in-house streaming system. 📺

One constant, however, is our service videos, which I create myself from start to finish: from scriptwriting and filming to the final cut. Thanks to my studies, I’m familiar with the workflows of studio productions. And I was able to apply this knowledge when building a mobile, rollable streaming system for our trainings and product demonstrations.

What makes working at vhf so enjoyable for me isn’t just the tasks, but above all my great colleagues in technical communications and throughout vhf.
