BUMAT collaborated with artist Es Devlin and Faena Art on a project for Miami Art Week 2025.

The installation “Library of Us” featured a slowly rotating triangular bookshelf, set within a shallow reflecting pool and surrounded by two concentric reading tables – one stationary, one revolving with the sculpture. Standing 6 meters tall and stretching 16.5 meters long, housing 2,500 books. The sculpture pointed symbolically toward both the Atlantic Ocean and inland Miami, acting like a sundial and compass in one. As the triangular bookshelf turned, the inner readers gently rotated with it – encountering new books, perspectives, and each other.

BUMAT provided the kinetic foundation for this unique concept:

A 22-meter weather-resistant turntable, engineered for outdoor use and installed directly on sand. With a load capacity of 30 metric tons, the surface of the turntable was covered with a shallow layer of water, creating a reflective stage for the sculpture and its moving readers.

This collaboration between art and engineering brought movement to meaning – and turned Miami Beach into a site of reflection, connection, and quiet choreography.

A BUMAT Turntable at the heart of the German Pavilion – Expo Osaka 2025

For the World Expo in Osaka, BUMAT realized an 11.4-meter flush-mounted turntable as the central seating platform of an immersive 360° experience. Surrounded by LED walls and carrying multiple seating groups, the platform moves with absolute smoothness and silence, creating a sense of calm within a dynamic visual environment.

Technical specifications:
• Engineered for silent operation and safe access during movement
• Diameter: 11.4 m
• Construction height: 245 mm (flush-mounted)
• Total payload: 15,000 kg
• Max. surface load: 500 kg/m²
• Steel construction with plywood substructure and carpet finish
• Frequency-controlled electric drives with wireless control

Movement in its most subtle form — enabling immersion, deceleration, and circular thinking.

• Inner diameter: 13 m
• Load capacity: 10 t
• Galvanized steel structure suitable for outdoor use
• Control via control panel

World Premiere – Pagani Utopia

For the world premiere of the Pagani Utopia at the Teatro Lirico in Milan, a precisely coordinated kinetic platform was realized using a DSMA 45/40-12 AL turntable in combination with a scissor lift table. Featuring continuous rotation, a frequency-controlled drive system, and full DMX integration, the stage enabled a calm, controlled, yet highly impressive presentation of the vehicle. The lightweight aluminum construction, central energy supply, and low overall height allowed for seamless and discreet integration into the scenography.

Technical specifications:
• Outer diameter: 4.5 m
• Load capacity: 2,500 kg
• Lightweight aluminum construction with a total height of just 135 mm
• Control via DMX and wireless remote control
• Scissor lift table for vertical elevation of the turntable
