As weeks and months go by, the lab has turned into a (second) home for some team members and witnesses a huge range of emotions depending on whether PCRs, ligations, transformations and so on are working or not.
Nevertheless we are already looking ahead! If our "BaKillus" project will work someday(!) it would be a completely new strategy in fighting multiresistant pathogens like MRSA. So we are curious if it would be even possible to use our "BaKillus" as a drug in the future and what would be the ethical, medical and bureaucratical issues we might be facing. That's why a part of our team went to the "Medizin Innovativ - MedTech Pharma 2014"-Congress in Nuremberg last week, to discuss these aspects with experts. After two days of discussing and listening to interesting talks we were lucky to get invited to the state reception at the Nuremberg Castle what has been a fantastic experience!
