Helmut Erbe joined the company as an apprentice in 1945. In 1962, he took sole responsibility for its management and set a clear course for the future.

He expanded Erbe beyond Germany, established an international sales network and drove innovations that helped set new standards in electrosurgery.

When he retired from management in 2003, he had been part of the company for almost 60 years.

Helmut Erbe shaped more than an era.

He laid the foundation for the international Erbe we know today.

As part of our 175 year anniversary, we continue our journey through the generations that have shaped Erbe. 🎥

The fourth generation marked a new chapter of international growth and innovation.

Under Helmut Erbe, the company expanded beyond Germany, establishing its first foreign subsidiary in Vienna in 1968, followed by further locations in Europe and the United States.

At the same time, innovations such as the ERBOTOM TUR, the ICC series and the first flexible APC probe helped advance electrosurgery.

Today we introduce Martin, Product Manager for Robotic and Surgical Instruments, who has been part of Erbe for 8 years. Reflecting on his work, Martin shares: “Good work needs space. At Erbe, I can create, learn from surgeons through dialogue and build innovations for the long term together with motivated teams.”

His perspective reflects what drives Erbe forward: collaboration, innovation and a strong connection to clinical practice.

As we continue celebrating our 175 year anniversary, we are proud to highlight the people who shape Erbe around the world.

Today we introduce Carolyn, Senior Vice President Finance and Operations and Corporate Officer at Erbe USA, who has been part of the company for nearly 28 years.

Reflecting on her journey, Carolyn shares: “Being part of Erbe for almost 28 years has been an incredible journey. I have seen a lot of change and growth, new technology, new ideas and new generations of talent. What has never changed is the commitment to our people and our customers.”
