2025 is coming to an end⏳ – and we can look back on another exciting and busy year at FermHub Zealand.
📍 At the end of last year, we were able to start running some test cycles at our facility. These were both internal tests and tests with a customer who wanted to help testing our equipment and, at the same time, their own processes and technology.
These tests continued at the beginning of this year and provided both them and us with a lot of valuable experience.
In the spring, we received our commissioning permit from the municipality, which allowed us to open commercially for customer projects.
📍 Almost at the same time, we were approved for GMO class 1, so soon after we could handle various GMO trials.
From there, things really took off, and we were able to run successful customer trials with only a few breaks in between, which we have used for minor adjustments and improvements to further optimize the facility.
✔️ In February we could welcome Thio as Operations Manager.
✔️ Over the summer, Subir joined us as Fermentation Specialist.
✔️ This month, we were able to hire Jack as Process Operations Engineer.
Unfortunately, this fall our lab technician Karen left us 😟 We wish Karen all the best in her new chapter 🤞
We are ending this year with a short Christmas vacation and, not least, preparations to return in week 2 with new and exciting tasks and customer trials.
And then we can look forward to an excellent 2026 with the prospect of more collaborations with existing and new customers, project collaborations through, among others, the Lighthouse Project (Erhvervsfyrtårnet for Biosolutions), and, not least, the startup of the project to expand our capacity with the grant we received from The Danish Board of Business Development (Danmarks Erhvervsfremmebestyrelse) and the Ministry of Business (Erhvervsministeriet) in the fall, as a collaborative project with Teknologisk Institut 💪
A big thank you to our users of the facility for choosing us 🙏
Thank you very much to our partners, our suppliers, our grantors and our fantastic network - and all the visitors we have had throughout the year 👏
And finally, we would like to thank our fantastic, talented, and hard-working team Thio, Subir and Jack. You are indispensable!
We are filled with gratitude and happiness 🙌
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from the FermHub founding team, Christopher, Christian and Lulu🎄 🤶 🎅 💥 🌟
