Six years after application, we returned to Nansha Bridge to inspect the results 🔎

Spanning the Pearl River estuary and linking Guangzhou and Dongguan, the Nansha Bridge is exposed to humidity and salt spray, which can accelerate corrosion.

Hempel A/S developed a specialised protection system for the bridge’s largest section, helping to provide:

🛡️ long-lasting corrosion protection with our advanced Avantguard® technology;

🛡️ reduced maintenance frequency and lower lifecycle costs; and

🛡️ strong colour retention and gloss performance even in severely polluted environments.

The site inspection showed that the steel structure and protective coatings remained in excellent condition.

The Nansha Bridge is one of more than 200 major steel bridges Hempel has helped protect across China. Each one builds on decades of experience in long-term corrosion protection.

Some partnerships are built over time - and across mountains 🚵🏽

For more than a decade, Hempel A/S colleagues have taken part in Cykelnerven/ Scleroseforeningen - a Danish charity cycling event that follows stages of Tour de France and raises funds for multiple sclerosis research and treatment.

As a main sponsor alongside Vestas, we’ve proudly supported Cykelnerven for 12 years - standing behind a community united by purpose 💙

In the video, two of our colleagues, Matt Fletcher and Svetlana Pereverzeva, share what motivated them to take on Cykelnerven for the first time.

Congratulations to Team Hempel and everyone who took part. Together, 600 riders raised EUR 2.42 million to help move us closer to a world without MS.

A proud moment for all of us at Hempel A/S as we celebrate with Maersk on the launch of Tema Mærsk 🎉

We’re especially honoured that our Executive Vice President & Head of Marine, Malgorzata Kolton, took on the role of Godmother at the naming ceremony at Yangzijiang Shipyard in China.

The occasion marks another important milestone in our collaboration with Maersk. Tema Mærsk is the third vessel in the series to feature our next-generation silicone hull coating, Hempaguard® NB, designed for shipyard application on newbuild vessels.

Road users in Nanjing can now cross the Yangtze in just 10 minutes - down from one hour - thanks to the new Nanjing Xinshengwei Yangtze River Bridge🚗🚛💨

Spanning 13.17 km with three lanes in each direction, the bridge is one of the latest cross‑river links improving mobility across the region.
