The Mastering PV Summer Training Program is a comprehensive, engineering-focused program designed to build solid
competence in photovoltaic systems — from foundational principles through to mega-scale utility applications. Every session
integrates 100% design methodology with hands-on practical application, ensuring participants are fully prepared for realworld engineering responsibilities.
Level 1 (Chapters 1–3) introduces solar PV fundamentals, core components, and full design capability for Commercial &
Industrial (C&I) systems, including Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and solar pumping solutions.
Level 2 (Chapters 4–5) advances participants to utility-scale and mega-scale PV projects, emphasizing Medium Voltage (MV)
networks, protection systems, substations, and integrated PV–MV design aligned with international standards.
What You Will Learn
• Develop a thorough engineering understanding of PV systems — from C&I scale to utility and mega-scale applications
• Select, evaluate, and engineer PV system components; develop complete DC and AC electrical designs per
recognized international standards
• Design grid-connected systems, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), and solar pumping solutions using industryproven methodologies
• Master MV network design for large-scale PV plants, including protection systems, substations, and grid
interconnection requirements
• Apply industry-standard software: PVsyst, SketchUp, AutoCAD, and ETAP across real project examples
• Perform ROI, LCOE, and EIA analyses for utility-scale project evaluation and investment decision-making
