EMERSON (Formrerly GE) 90-30 PLC Upgrade

GE Series 90-30 PLC move to Discontinued Status effective 1 January 2018, PACSystems RX3i controller is used as upgrade solution of existing GE 90-30 controllers.
In principle, all you need to start is a rack, power supply, and a CPU. The below picture shows Series 90-30 & PACSystems Rx3i.
Based on the figure below, the following items can be retained from the existing Series 90-30:
- Logic program
- IO modules (Some 90-30 IO modules can be mounted on new rack so no need to change when upgrading)
- IO wiring
Accordingly, the benefits shall be:
- Minimum downtime
- Minimum engineering effort
- Minimum cost
- Retain a good portion of existing install base
