A cutaway view is often the best way to understand how a valve really works.
In Babcock’s Y-pattern piston check valves, forward flow lifts the piston to allow fluid to pass. If the flow reverses, the piston automatically returns to the closed position, preventing backflow.
These forged valves are available from 1/2” to 3”, in ASME Classes 150 to 4500, with or without disc spring. Their threaded & welded body-cover design combines a threaded joint with a sealing weld, providing a robust double-sealed construction for demanding services.
