Metalships & Docks is a leading Spanish company founded in 1975, devoted to Shipbuilding and Shiprepairs of all types of vessels being highly specialized in offshore vessels. The company is part of the Rodman Group which has several shipyards each specialised in different types of vessels. The portfolio of the Yard consists mainly of offshore vessels, the specialty of the builder, fishing vessels

and small ferries. Metalships has built a number of large DP2 and DP3 Offshore Vessels, the first one delivered in 2003, for first-class international shipowners. The yard has recently delivered a 138m l.o.a. Sailing Cruise Vessel, “Sea Cloud Spirit”, the 2nd biggest of its kind, to a German owner. Good planning, good project management, careful logistics control and timely ex*****on are the strengths that have made Metalships a worldwide reference for specialized complex ships. Metalships & Docks has been working in shiprepairs uninterruptedly for over 25 years, having completed over a thousand jobs for shipowners worldwide. The scope of the jobs range from single cut-and-shave works to the most complicated conversions of all types : renewal of propulsion packages, installation of new main and auxiliary engines, machinery works, repair of steam boilers, lengthening of vessels, new accommodation blocks, fish processing plants, etc.

This week Metalships has had the unexpected privilege of receiving a true sailing legend which is over 100 years old.

The topsail schooner EYE OF THE WIND built in 1911 had to make an emergency stop in Vigo and is undergoing repairs at our shipyard. This marvellous vessel has had many great adventures at sea and has even stared in a few famous films in the 1980s and 1990s.

It is our pleasure to have become part of its history and we wish her and many more adventures and sailing days to come.

Esta semana en Metalships, hemos tenido el privilegio de recibir, inesperadamente, a una verdadera leyenda de los mares que tiene más de 100 años.

La goleta EYE OF THE WIND, construida en 1911 ha tenido que hacer una parada de emergencia en Vigo y se está reparando en nuestro astillero. Esta maravilla de embarcación ha vivido grandes aventuras en el mar e incluso ha protagonizado algunas películas muy conocidas en los años 80 y 90.

Es un placer formar parte de este capítulo de su historia. Le deseamos que siga surcando nuestros mares y viviendo sus aventuras por mucho tiempo.

The tugboat JULIA S of 20m l.o.a and 8.20m beam is at METALSHIPS to undergo several repairs and reconditioning jobs.

This is the third tugboat that our local and faithful customer REMOLCADORES NOSA TERRA has confided to us this year and we thank them for their trust.

These tugboats put in a great number of hours daily, not only offering harbour services but especially in their main area of work, rescue at sea.

We are proud to do our bit for the services they provide on every tugboat we repair and prepare for the difficult tasks they face at sea.

We hope to continue to be worthy of their trust for many repairs to come and wish them many safe tides.

El remolcador JULIA S, de 20 metros de eslora total y 8,20 metros de manga, ha llegado a METALSHIPS para someterse a diversos trabajos de reparación y puesta a punto.

Con esta embarcación, ya son tres los remolcadores que nuestro fiel cliente local, REMOLCADORES NOSA TERRA, nos ha confiado a lo largo de este año. Agradecemos profundamente su confianza.

Estos remolcadores desempeñan un papel esencial cada día, no solo en operaciones portuarias, sino también en tareas fundamentales como es el salvamento marítimo.

Nos sentimos orgullosos de contribuir, aunque sea en una pequeña parte, a los servicios que prestan estas embarcaciones en cada reparación y puesta a punto que realizamos. Colaborando de esta manera a que puedan afrontar con seguridad y eficacia las difíciles tareas a las que se enfrentan.

August ended with the arrival at Metalships of the vessel ARTZA from our customer ATUNSA.

The fishing vessel of 119.50 m l.o.a and 20m in breadth will be with us for a few weeks to carry out several repair jobs.

Work continues at Metalships & Docks S.A.U. this month of August with the arrival of ATLANTIS ANTAO which belongs to our customer Armona Denizcilik A.Ş.

The Product Tanker of 92.86m l.o.a and 14.10m in breadth is with us to carry out various mechanical jobs, paint jobs and others.

We welcome them to our Shipyard.

El trababjo continua en Metalships & Docks S.A.U. este mes de agosto con la llegada del ANTLANTIS ANTAO, perteneciente a nuestro cliente Armona Denizcilik A.Ş.

El tanquero de 92.86m de eslora y 14.10m de manga está con nosotros para realizar varios trabajos de mecánica, pintura y otros.

Le damos la bienvenida y le deseamos una buena estancia.

The month of July has been one marked by a high work load and one with alot of activity, having several vessels in the shipyard.

Three of those vessels belong to our customer Nova Ship Tech SA, who confided in us to repair them simultaneously, ICS Orion (General Cargo), NACC Indian and NACC Itaca (Cement Carriers).

In parallel we have the tugboat Blanca S and the Offshore Supply vessel Norman F. McCall, which belong to our customers Remolcanosa and P&O Repasa Tarragona S.L., respectively.

A month where many choose to enjoy their holidays, has turned out to be one of the busiest periods, this year, for Metalships.

We look forward to the month of August with more work ahead and always aiming to offer our best service to our customers.

Finalizamos con éxito un mes de Julio marcado por una alta ocupación en el astillero y una gran actividad de movimientos de buques.

Nuestro cliente, Nova Ship Tech, SA confiaba en nosotros la reparación simultánea de tres buques de su flota, el buque ICS Orion, (carguero) y los buques NACC Indian y NACC Itaca, (cementeros).

Paralelamente, nos acompaña el buque remolcador Blanca S y el buque Offshore Supply, Norman F. McCall, pertenecientes a nuestros clientes Remolcanosa y P&O Repasa Tarragona, S.L., respectivamente.

El que para muchos es un mes de periodo vacacional, para Metalships, este año, se tradujo en una de las épocas de mayor actividad.

Quedamos a la espera de la llegada de Agosto con toda la ilusión de seguir trabajando y ofreciendo a nuestros clientes nuestro mejor servicio.
