We are proud to announce our €2.5 M seed round led by VentureFriends and participated by Lifeline, Curus and Tesi 🥳

The new funding allows us to reach our goal of becoming the best lab testing service in the world faster, meaning that we can help an increasing amount of product developers and quality controllers get all the tests they need in an easy and hassle-free way from one place ✅

With the new investment, we are expanding further into international markets by establishing local teams, doubling down on automating our processes and, of course, hiring new amazing colleagues to better serve our growing global customer pool.

How to ensure that cosmetics are compliant with EU regulations? 🤔

To summarize, it has to be shown that the product:

✅ Consists of safe ingredients and does not contain significant amounts of impurities
✅ Is of high microbiological quality
✅ Remains stable in the foreseeable storage conditions
✅ Does not pose a toxicological risk to consumers

Additional requirements apply to cosmetics that contain , as they have been found to interact with biological systems in a way that diverges from conventional cosmetics ingredients.

Cosmetics products must fulfill the requirements of Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009 to be marketed in the EU. Measurlabs offers the necessary compliance testing.

🧑🏻‍🎓 Study background from international trade and computer science

💼 Has several years of experience with sales, both in taking care of existing customers and acquiring new ones

😎 Took a leap of faith into the laboratory industry, and is already almost fluent in our seemingly endless list of three-letter acronyms for different measurement techniques 🔬

👩🏻‍🔧 Also has a degree in craftsmanship as an artisan, and enjoys restoring furniture and renovating her home in her free time.

The team just keeps on growing! 🤩 Heini just joined our medical devices team along with Alexandra, and we could not be more excited about having her:

🧑🏻‍🎓 M.Sc. in chemical engineering, focusing her Masters on bioprocess and food engineering.

💼 Experience from production as well as research and development of regulated industries (pharmaceuticals and in vitro diagonstics).

😎 Is eager to get to help our medical device manufacturing customers in getting the tests they need for regulatory compliance and R&D projects.

🏋🏻‍♀️ In her freetime, she enjoys workouts like CrossFit, beach volley, or cycling, and has even participated in a multi-pitch trad climbing course in Lofoten in Norway 😮

EU legislation on food contaminants has been updated numerous times in the past years, with increasingly strict limits on the presence of harmful substances in the food we consume🍏

Regulation (EU) 2023/915 sets maximum levels for numerous contaminants in different food types. Testing is required to ensure these levels are not exceeded.

🧑🏻‍🎓 Ph.D. in Materials Science from Aalto University, focusing on dynamic mechanical characterization of biomaterials

😎 Has a super interesting background working in EU Horizon 2020 research projects related to biomaterial development and risk assessment for example

❤️ Is passionate about the intersection of the health tech industry and laboratory sciences as a way to impact people’s lives and improve their well-being.

🎊 In her free time she has a variety of interests ranging from knitting to computer games and arranging parties.

🥁 Fun fact: her secret dream is to learn to play the drums one day.

Today is a great day as we are launching the Measurlabs Biobased Content Certificate! 📃

The certificate has been inspired by discussions with our customers and the EU's upcoming Green Claims directive. The directive demands that sustainability claims be specific and scientifically proven, and we wanted to give companies the tools they need to fulfill these requirements.

The certificate in short:

✅ Testing by EN 16785-1 standard

✅ Takes into account all elements, not just carbon. This way the biobased content will not be over- or underestimated

✅ The label communicates the biobased content as an exact percentage, minimizing the risk of false interpretations

✅ Has been discussed with the Finnish Ministry of the Environment and we are super happy to have their approval for the certificate
