We're excited to launch an intensive capacity building program to boost Tuvalu's tourism sector! This initiative aims to enhance skills and knowledge in Funafuti, the capital, and strengthen tourism's contribution to Tuvalu's GDP and national development.
Prior to COVID-19, tourism played a vital role, generating revenues and providing jobs. With tourism as a bridge to other sectors, it fostered entrepreneurship and aided states in progressing economically.
Although Tuvalu's tourism sector is emerging, it shows great potential for growth. Recognizing this, Tuvalu has outlined its strategic priorities in the National Development Strategy and launched the Tuvalu Sustainable Tourism Policy. The capacity building program, in partnership with the Tuvalu Tourism Department and the PACER Plus Implementation Unit, will provide targeted training in hospitality, culinary skills, and more.
By investing in Tuvalu's tourism, PACER Plus aims to contribute to economic growth and the well-being of the people. 🇹🇻
