Pacific Cement Pte Limited Celebrates Fiji Day and a Successful First Quarter

Yesterday, the team at Pacific Cement Pte Limited came together to celebrate Fiji Day in advance, commemorating 56 years of Fiji's independence and reflecting on the important role the company has played in helping build our nation.

For decades, Pacific Cement Pte Limited, formerly known as Fiji Industries, has been part of Fiji's development journey, supplying the cement that has helped construct roads, bridges, schools, homes, commercial buildings, and critical infrastructure that connect communities and support economic growth across the country.

The celebration was also an opportunity for Management to thank employees for their dedication, hard work, and commitment in delivering a successful first quarter of the financial year. The achievements of the quarter are a testament to the collective effort, teamwork, and resilience demonstrated across the business.

📢 Business Update from Pacific Cement Pte Limited

Despite the power outage affecting parts of the Lami area today, Pacific Cement remains operational and continues to service our valued customers.

✅ Bag cement loading is continuing as normal, ensuring our customers can collect and receive their orders without disruption.

We thank our customers for their patience and understanding while utility crews work to restore full power to the area. We also acknowledge the hardworking teams on the ground carrying out the repair works safely.

Our team remains committed to keeping cement supplies moving and supporting construction projects across Fiji.

📸 PCL Family Picnic 2026 | A Day of Appreciation, Connection & Celebration

Last Saturday, 19 September, the Pacific Cement Pte Limited family gathered at the beautiful Yatu Lau Beach for a special Company Picnic, bringing together not only our employees but also their families for a day of fun, laughter, and togetherness.

The event was a wonderful opportunity to step away from our daily routines and spend quality time with the people who support us behind the scenes, our families. It was heartwarming to see colleagues, spouses, children, and loved ones connecting, sharing stories, and creating new memories together.

A special highlight of the day was recognizing and thanking one of our long-serving team members on their retirement. We took time to reflect on their contribution, dedication, and the role they have played in the Pacific Cement journey. It was a fitting moment of gratitude and appreciation for years of service.

Throughout the day, conversations flowed freely as staff reminisced about the good times, reflected on challenges overcome together, and shared their appreciation for the opportunities, friendships, and support they have experienced during their time with PCL.

At Pacific Cement, we believe that our people are our greatest strength. Events like these remind us that we are more than colleagues, we are a family built on teamwork, respect, and shared experiences.

Today, we bid a final farewell to our dear colleague and friend, Jeri Taqiri.

It is with heavy hearts that we mourn the loss of a valued member of our team. Jeri was more than just a colleague; he was a kind soul, a dedicated professional, and a friend to many. His presence, commitment, and warmth touched the lives of those who had the privilege of working alongside him.

As we gathered today to honor and remember Jeri, we would like to express our sincere gratitude to all our customers, clients, and business partners for your understanding and support during our temporary closure. Your patience and compassion have meant a great deal to us and have allowed our team the opportunity to come together and pay our respects.

During this difficult time, our thoughts and prayers are with Jeri's family, loved ones, and friends. We join them in celebrating his life, his contributions, and the lasting impact he made on so many people.
