🌧️🏗️ HOW TO STORE CEMENT PROPERLY THIS RAINY SEASON 🏗️🌧️

Moisture is cement's biggest enemy! Protect your investment and ensure strong, durable construction by following these 8 essential storage tips:

🔹 1. Choose a Dry, Covered Storage Area
Keep cement protected from rain and humidity.

📦 2. Elevate the Cement Bags
Store bags on pallets or platforms at least 152 mm above ground. Avoid direct contact with floors to prevent moisture absorption.

🛡️ 3. Use Waterproof Sheeting
Cover stacks with waterproof tarpaulin or plastic sheets.

📚 4. Store Bags Properly
Stack neatly and safely to prevent damage. Limit stack height to around 10 bags to avoid compaction and tearing.

↔️ 5. Keep Away from Walls
Leave space for ventilation and moisture control. Leave at least 1-foot space between the stacks and walls to promote air circulation.

🔄 6. Follow the FIFO Rule
First-In, First-Out – use older stock before newer deliveries.

⏳ 7. Avoid Long-Term Storage
Use cement as soon as possible for best performance. Try to use stored cement within 2-3 months.

👀 8. Monitor Regularly
Inspect bags frequently for signs of moisture or hardening. Remove and discard any affected bags to avoid comprising quality.

We are pleased to announce the appointment of Moses Hicks as Head of Operations (HOP), reporting directly to our Chief Executive Officer.

This strategic appointment is a key milestone in PCL’s Factory Transformation Agenda, reinforcing our commitment to operational excellence, accountability, and sustainable growth.

In this role, Moses will lead end-to-end factory operations, including:
🔹 Milling Operations through to Bagging & Dispatch – ensuring seamless delivery from raw material processing to final product distribution
🔹 Engineering Maintenance & Workshop – strengthening reliability, optimization, and proactive asset management
🔹 Laboratory & Compliance – upholding quality standards, including oversight of our IANZ-certified laboratory

Moses brings over 20 years of manufacturing and operational leadership experience across Fiji’s leading industrial organisations. His career includes senior roles at FIJI Water (Natural Waters of Viti Ltd), where he contributed across production, engineering, and operational excellence.

Most recently, Moses served as Group General Manager – Manufacturing at CJ Patel Group, leading multi-site operations, strategic planning, and high-performing teams to consistently achieve strong business results.

This appointment positions Pacific Cement Pte Limited to accelerate our transformation journey and strengthen a culture of excellence across our operations.

Pacific Cement Pte Ltd (PCL) proudly participated in the 3-day Pacific Infrastructure Business Opportunities Seminar (PIBOS) 2026, held from 25th – 27th May at the Crowne Plaza, Nadi. 🏨

Representing PCL, the Sales & Marketing Manager attended this prestigious regional event, engaging with industry leaders, development partners, and key stakeholders from across the Pacific. 🤝

PIBOS 2026 brought together over 400 participants from across the region, providing a valuable platform to explore upcoming infrastructure opportunities, strengthen partnerships, and gain insights into future developments in sectors such as transport, energy, water, and ICT.

On 27th May 📅, PCL conducted a joint session covering the New Mill Upgrade Workshop ⚙️ & Board Setting on Strategic Priorities 🎯 for the next 3 years.

The first session focused on the New Mill Upgrade 🏗️, facilitated by Management & Ammjohn Solutions 🤝. This was followed by the Board Setting session 🧠, where HODs presented their key focus areas.

The session was highly interactive 🔄, with strong board input, constructive challenges 💡, and alignment discussions ✅ to shape clear strategic priorities for the next three years.

Overall, the workshop marked another important step in PCL’s Factory Transformation journey 🔧➡️🌍, as the company continues to build on 60+ years of operations since 1958 🏆, shaping a more resilient 💪 and future-ready 🚀 business.
