Each chassis becomes a unique and personal scratch-built model meeting the demands of the most discerning collector. The Tank follows our acclaimed T55 roadster and inherits the experience gained in over ten years at the forefront of model engineering.

1930 BUGATTI TYPE 46 COUPÉ SUPERPROFILÉE

The attributes of the Type 46, chassis and engine married with Jean Bugatti’s exotic coachwork design, places it among the most appreciated Bugatti cars.

The T46, or “Petit Royale,” has a striking resemblance to the Type 41 Royale. The steel ladder-type chassis of the Type 46 was powered by an impressive, long-stroke single overhead camshaft 5.4-liter inline eight engine on a 138-inch/3,505-mm wheelbase,. Its impressive specifications included three valves per cylinder and two spark plugs per cylinder and 140 brake horsepower. The Type 46s three-speed manual gearbox mounted within a rear-transaxle unit, marking another technical innovation of the basic design.

Le « roadster 55 » fut sans aucun doute, parmi tous les Purs Sangs fabriqués à Molsheim, la plus grande réussite d'Ettore Bugatti et de son fils Jean. Œuvre personnelle de Jean, la 55 Supersport allie à la fois esthétique et performances mécaniques. Elle est un "puzzle" construit à partir d'éléments provenant d'autres voitures Bugatti. Sur un châssis de type 47, modèle à moteur 16 cylindres, Jean y installa un moteur de 2,3 litres de type 51 avec des essieux de type 43 et une boite de vitesses de tourisme à levier central à rotule déjà créée pour la 49. Les superbes roues de la 51, en aluminium coulé avec jantes à base creuse, du modèle du Grand Prix, furent conservées. En revanche, un nouveau radiateur, toujours de style Bugatti, lui fut octroyé.
