🏗️ Development Project – Colwyn Bay 🏗️

We’ve been busy working on a project for a property developer in Colwyn Bay, carrying out various stages of the groundworks as the development progresses.

🚜 Firstly, we carried out a reduced dig at the rear of the site, bringing the ground down to the required levels.

🌧️ We then excavated an area for a stormwater storage system, which will temporarily hold rainwater before it is released into the main drainage system. The excavation is now complete and ready for the stormwater storage facility to be installed.

🔹 Drainage trenches were also dug ready for the new pipework.

🪨 Finally, we stoned up around the site, creating a clean and solid working area ready for the scaffolders.

Plenty of work for the CAT 302.7, and once again it’s proving to be a great addition to our fleet! 💪

Another good stage of the project completed and ready for the next trades to get started.

The CAT 302.7 earning its keep! 🚜

Here we’re carrying out excavation works for a storm water storage system, digging through some particularly tough and compacted ground.

We’ve been very pleased with the CAT 302.7 so far. It’s proving to be a strong, precise and capable machine and a great addition to the AGR Contracting fleet.

From small access jobs through to larger groundworks, having the right machine for the job makes all the difference.

A little upgrade for the CAT 301.6 today! 👌🔧

We dropped the machine off with DJS Hydraulics-Agri, where they supplied and fitted a new hydraulic quick hitch.

This should make swapping between buckets and attachments much quicker and easier, especially when we’re switching between different tasks on site. 💪

Another handy upgrade to make the CAT 301.6 even more efficient!

🌿 FLAIL MULCHING & VEGETATION CLEARANCE 🌿

Today we spent some time setting up and testing our flail mulcher on the CAT 302.7, ready for upcoming work.

This setup gives us another option for tackling overgrown land, long grass, brambles and vegetation where access may be limited.

The machine is now set up and ready to go! 💪

A slightly different job for us today!

We were asked to demolish the old boat “Norse” at Kite Surf Cafe in Rhyl. Believed to be around 170 years old, the Norse is said to have been used during the war to transport ammunition, making it a fascinating piece of local history.

Our job was to carefully demolish the boat and stack all of the waste neatly, ready for a grab lorry to collect on Monday.

Looking back, it’s hard to believe how far we’ve come.

This evening was a bit of an emotional one as we said goodbye to the tractor that started it all back in 2014, when we were trading as Roberts Agri Services. It was the machine that helped build the foundations of the business, taking on small agricultural contracting jobs and helping us get established.

A lot has changed over the years. What started as a small agricultural contracting business has grown into AGR Contracting, now specialising in plant hire, groundworks and fencing. None of it would have been possible without the support of our customers, friends and family along the way.

It’s sad to see the tractor leave after so many years and so many great memories, but it’s time for a new chapter.

We’d like to wish Adam all the very best with his own contracting business. We’re sure the tractor will continue to do what it does best and serve him well for many years to come.

Thank you to everyone who has supported us on this journey—here’s to the next chapter! 🚜💚

Start ➡️ Finish! 👌

A simple, cost-effective driveway extension completed for another happy customer.

We excavated and removed the existing soil before installing a heavy-duty membrane. We then added our own crushed concrete and brick as a sub-base, helping to keep costs down while making good use of reclaimed materials. This was followed by a layer of MOT Type 1, thoroughly compacted to provide a solid foundation.

To finish, we laid 20mm limestone, as requested by the customer, giving the driveway a clean, tidy appearance with plenty of additional parking space.

Another great transformation completed by AGR Contracting.
