After 24 years, we are closing our doors. It’s a decision made with a heavy heart, but one we’ve come to after realising that continuing is no longer financially viable. Even knowing it’s the right decision doesn’t make it any easier.

To our suppliers and manufacturers, we are deeply grateful for your reliability, patience, collaboration and quality products. You’ve helped us deliver our best, and we couldn’t have done it without you.

CalForth Construction Ltd appointed NEC to supply and install wall cladding for a contemporary extension to a traditional stone-built home in Broughty Ferry.

The project featured Build It Better Catnic standing seam system in Anthracite Grey colour. The cladding was installed vertically onto a timber frame structure, creating a striking contrast with the existing stonework while complementing the modern design of the extension.

Drip flashings were incorporated at the base of the cladding and at door and window heads, along with matching jamb flashings and corner details.

All flashings were fabricated in Anthracite Grey coated steel to provide a consistent finish that ties in with the Catnic cladding, as well as the doors and windows. Fascias were installed by the main contractor.

The main valley gutter through the centre of Kerrs Of Arbroath - Removals & Storage building was leaking severely.

Upon inspection, the existing gutter was found to be completely corroded. We removed the roof and wall sheeting around the affected area to allow full access and removal of the old gutter.

A new, heavier-gauge steel valley gutter, supplied by FAB 24 Ltd was installed, incorporating a rubber membrane bonded to the steel for added protection. All gutter joints were sealed to ensure a fully watertight system.

Once the gutter was securely installed and sealed, the roof and wall sheets were reinstated. New flashings were then installed to complete the works and ensure the building is fully watertight.

Refurbishment works can be challenging, at NEC we always look to find the right solution that works for the building in the most cost effective way for every client.
