🔧 A satisfying repair from a couple of weeks ago…

This vehicle arrived with a damaged glow plug thread after the glow plug had already been removed and unfortunately taken the threads out with it.

Rather than looking at a much bigger repair, I was able to carry out a thread repair and fit a threaded insert to restore the glow plug hole properly.

A careful job, but well worth doing right. The glow plug fitted perfectly afterwards and the engine was back together and running exactly as it should. ✅

I’ve included a few photos showing the damaged thread, the repair process, and a video of the engine running once everything was back together.

Jobs like this are a good reminder that not every problem needs the most expensive solution. With the right repair, this one was back on the road without the need for major engine work.

🚜 Barn find revival today…

This Toyota Hilux had been sitting tucked away in a barn for around 3 years, gathering dust and waiting for some attention.

First job was getting some power back into it and carrying out a few initial checks before attempting anything. After a bit of investigation and some patience, we managed to get it fired back into life surprisingly quickly. 👌

Always satisfying bringing something back from the dead after years stood still. It’s a reminder that vehicles left standing often need methodical checks rather than just throwing parts at them.

Now onto the next stage and seeing what else this old Hilux has in store… 👀

Toyota Hilux in for a window regulator replacement 🔧

Sometimes jobs that sound simple involve a bit more than people realise. Door stripped down, old regulator removed and a new unit fitted and built back up properly.

Another one sorted and back working as it should 👍

This BMW came in recently for clutch work — and while underneath, we found some very questionable previous exhaust repairs 😬

The flexi section had completely failed, parts of the exhaust were missing, and some of the welding repairs underneath were… interesting to say the least.

Everything properly repaired and made safe again 👍

This is exactly why it’s important to check vehicles over thoroughly rather than just replacing the original fault and ignoring everything else underneath.

A job from last week for one of my regular customers 👍

This Ford C-MAX came in with running issues and ended up needing a full set of injectors along with a new fuel filter.

New parts fitted, injectors coded correctly and the car back running as it should again 🚗💨

🔧 Recent repair completed

This BMW came in with a significant oil leak, which was traced to the oil filter housing and oil cooler seals — a common issue on these engines.

The faulty seals were replaced and everything cleaned down before reassembly to make sure the leak was properly resolved.

Oil leaks like this are important to deal with early, as they can quickly make a mess of the engine bay and lead to further problems if left.

Another vehicle sorted and back on the road. ✅

If you’ve noticed oil spots where you park or the smell of burning oil, it may be worth getting it checked.
