First home, First step.
30% discount helped Ben and Lisa onto property ladder in Bishop’s Green.
After years of working and saving, Ben and Lisa have finally got the keys to their very first home at Bewley Homes’ Princess Gardens in Bishop’s Green, near Newbury.
Both in their early 20s, the couple saved £25,000 for their deposit while living with their parents – but it was the Government’s First Homes scheme, giving them a 30% discount on the market value, that made buying their new home possible.
Their one-bedroom home gives them plenty of space, with a generous lounge/diner, cloakroom, double bedroom, bathroom and its own garden. There’s even an EV charger, perfect for Ben’s electric vehicle.
And the location is proving just as popular. Surrounded by countryside and wildlife, yet only a few miles from Newbury, the couple really do have the best of both worlds.
