Charity bowling night ballot winners. As part of our bowling night we held a ballot for 2 prizes, an iPad donated by Toshiba Air Conditioning and a Northern Ireland shirt which was worn by Paul Smyth during the recent match against Belarus. The shirt was very kindly donated by Paul Smyths father-in-law, Colin Orr of Hanna Mechanical Services. The ballot raised £1,000 which was split between the charities chosen by the two winners.
The first winner, Stephen Crosbie of TB&A chose to donate his £500 to Bangor Food Bank. Ken Scott, the Manager of Bangor Food Bank received the cheque from Stephen, following the presentation Ken gave us a tour of the food bank and what an impressive facility it is! Bangor NI Foodbank has been established since January 2012 and last year gave out 33,000 meals to local charities and clients in need in the Bangor area.
The second Ballot winner, Feargal from QUB chose NI Hospice as his charity to receive £500.00 Feargal presented the cheque to Kieran from NI Hospice. Also present was Colin Orr from Hanna Mechanical Services who very kindly donated the Northern Ireland. Another great local charity, the Hospice offers specialist respite, symptom management and end of life palliative care to 4,000 infants, children and adults each year across Northern Ireland.
Well done guys, two great charities!
