We recently delivered a major on-site solar PV system for blocblinds in Magherafelt, with 304 panels on the factory roof and a further 49 on the office building.

The system includes 165kW of solar panels connected to 116kW inverters and is expected to reduce electricity usage from external sources by around 40%, with an estimated payback period of approximately three and a half years.

Another common question we hear from businesses is not whether solar makes sense, but how many panels they would actually need.
The answer depends on a few practical things:

☀️ How much electricity you use
☀️ How much roof space you have available
☀️ What you want the system to achieve

For example, a business using 30,000 kWh a year might need around 100 panels, taking up roughly 160 square metres of roof space.

Not every development suits the usual heating options, and that’s exactly where the right expertise makes all the difference.

We worked with the Rural Housing Association Limited on their Main Street, Randalstown development to deliver a communal geothermal heating system for a 9-unit scheme.

With tight site boundaries, no piped gas and limited space, geothermal gave the project a practical, low-carbon heating solution without compromising on parking or the tenants daily lives

It’s a brilliant example of how developers, builders and architects can think differently about heating at design stage to deliver warm, affordable homes and a more sustainable solution overall.
