Plasterers have been hard at work which gets these rooms a step closer to finishing!

Underfloor heating trays are due to go down today on the top floor! Exciting times for this project.

Ground floor has come to a stop temporarily but we are confident it will be moving again soon πŸ’ͺ🏼

Wednesday and Thursday on site 🚧

Myself and the old man have been insulating and plasterboarding the second floor. This is a warm roof and we are trying to achieve between 150mm - 170mm thickeness with the insulation.

Between the rafters we have 150mm between, and 25mm overlay, and on the dormer walls we have 100mm between, and 50mm overlay. It never ends πŸ˜‚

Plasterboard we are using normal white board, however on the party wall we are using blue sound board.

The window fitters have been cracking on and have finished all windows and doors, except the mega bifold doors

Happy Friday πŸ₯³

Some missed photos βš”οΈ

This project is a complete renovation where no part of the existing building remains the same.

The most transformational part for me is the loft conversion πŸͺ΅ for this we have to strip the roof tiles, and start cutting out the old rafters, and also take out the existing joists, ready for all new, bigger, stronger timbers πŸ’ͺ🏼

We installed new steels in the first floor ceiling to carry the ceiling joists. This is needed to break the span of the joists.

Then we cut in the joists, and got to work on forming the roof 🏠

I feel I missed some of these important sections over previous posts, which is why I am going back to upload ⚑️

Now I apologise as photos on this project are few and far between! πŸ“Έ

Once the sewer was sorted, the footings went in using dense concrete block ready for the block and beam floor to go on.

These beams weighed a tonne! But we persevered and me and the old man got it done πŸ’ͺ🏼

We laid the blocks in, cut in the ones that needed it and locked it all together with a strong watery cement mix.

Next Job, steels 😬

Foundations on our current project were already in, these were done 1 year prior to starting.

First job of ours was to move the manhole out of its original position, as this will be where our clients new kitchen is! 🀩 nobody wants a manhole in the middle of their kitchen πŸ•³οΈ (this is a lengthy process which can take a couple of months to get all the right documents and authorisation sorted)

We then broke out the pipe, positioned our new manhole so it sat outside of our building footprint and connected it back up. BOSH πŸ’ͺ🏼

Concrete the manhole in and around the connection so it doesn’t sag/move. We shingled around the pipe and backfilled.

Job done βœ…
