LONG (but important) post alert...🚨
An unfortunate reality of our job is that we often see clients who end up paying twice for traditional projects due to not investing in specialist traditional cob and lime builders from the outset...
Traditional building methods are simple by nature but require knowledge and experience to get right - and getting it wrong is always costly.
If you're looking for a traditional builder you can trust and are wondering how to make the right choice, here's a few tips...👍
▶️Ask for examples of work - an experienced builder will be happy to share this and should be able to evidence their knowledge and skill.
▶️Check reviews & ask for recommendations from friends - search out specific traditional build reviews; we have past clients who are always happy to talk to prospective customers about our solid workmanship.
▶️Research the business - are they local with a consistent local reputation? Can you see that their experience matches with their business longevity? Yes, it's pretty in-depth, but if a business doesn't have a solid local reputation, there may be a reason for it and it's worth doing the research beforehand.
▶️Don't assume cheapest is best - often, a cheap quote can point to a lack of knowledge and lack of comprehension of the process, and the end result is often poor workmanship at best and paying for failing work to be rectified at worst. Bear in mind traditional building methods are always more expensive than its modern equivalent and paying once, for quality, is ALWAYS the best way.
