Our founders invented the tube butting process, designed to take weight out of a tube without compromising strength, and we've been using that process ever since to produce tubing that keeps our customers ahead of the rest. With at least 27 Tour De France wins to our name and with a number of industry milestones under our belts, including the introduction of the first ever heat treated steel to th

e industry, we’re staying true to our innovative roots. Our SuperSteel 953 offers a strength-to-weight ratio to take on the world’s best, with a tensile strength in excess of 2000 MPa. Meanwhile our stainless 921 tubing offers a tensile strength of 1000 MPa, making it probably the highest strength cold-worked tube set in the bike industry. Having recently introduced 3D printed titanium dropouts to our commercial range, Reynolds is now exploring this cutting edge technology and the possibilities it offers. A few pics from our weekend at the Handmade Bicycle Show in Tokyo. We enjoyed seeing all the custom hand builders and their frames here!

We were delighted with the level of interest in Reynolds and our long history, and many told us about their favourite steel bikes- mainly in 753 and 531, with the oldest dating back to 1939! Off-road riding seems to be less common than in our other markets, so steel road and commuter bikes were in the majority. It’s been a very interesting and instructive show for us and we’re sorry to be leaving. Big thanks to Nichinao, our distributor, and Seiichi Eguchi who organised many details from his wonderful Corsacorsa shop in Tokyo.
