🏆😂 Tyre Fitter of the Month Just Got an Upgrade! 😂🏆

We have been running our Tyre Fitter of the Month award for a while now and decided it was time to add a trophy to go alongside the voucher.

This month's winner is Dean, making it two months in a row so a massive well done! 👏🔧

Unfortunately, when ordering the trophy, I may have forgotten to check the dimensions... mm to inches, rather big difference!!!🤦‍♂️

So we are proud to present what is quite possibly the smallest Tyre Fitter of the Month trophy ever made! 🏆🤏

Still, it is not the size of the trophy that counts, it is the achievement behind it. Although saying that Dean might need a magnifying glass to read it! 😂

Congratulations, Dean! Two months on the bounce and now the proud owner of a trophy that's small enough to fit in your pocket. 🎉🏆

*******************When Life Gets in the Way********************

As business owners/directors/managers we spend every days planning schedules, managing workloads and meeting customer commitments, but sometimes life has other plans.!

Behind every employee is a person facing challenges we may never see, and we never truly know what is behind someone's smile.

When unforeseen circumstances means jobs need to be rescheduled, our responsibility is twofold: support our employees with empathy and communicate openly with our customers.

Most customers understand that life happens; (some don't) but what matters is honesty, transparency, and respect. Leadership is not measured by how we perform when everything goes to plan, but by how we balance compassion for our team with accountability to our customers when it doesn't.

The easiest thing to measure is productivity. The hardest thing to measure is loyalty.

For me this week we have certainly been tested, so I think the best option is wine and chocolate and start again Monday with a smile🍫 🍾 🍷

One of the perks of working for yourself…

I haven’t bought a pen in about 9 years thanks to suppliers, sales reps, customers, trade shows and the best ones are the companies trying to supply you merchandise, sending over posh pens with your logo on 😂

At this point, free branded pens are part of the business model.

If a supplier turns up with free pens, they are guaranteed a coffee and a chat ☕😂

Funny how running a business changes you too. You start off chasing sales and negotiating with tyre suppliers, then end up analysing coffee usage and glove costs to protect profit margins.

Revenue matters, but business owners know managing costs is where the real magic happens ✍️

Big smiles in the workshop today... it’s Friday, the last shift before the weekend, and the lads are in great spirits after Aston Villa booked their place in the final! ⚽🎉

To celebrate, we’ve put together a mini tea party for the team. A good week’s work, plenty of banter, and now a well earned weekend ahead.

Moments like this are what make a great team culture, hard work during the week and taking time to enjoy the wins together.

Well, I was feeling homesick so treated family and work colleagues to some Irish chocolate and biscuits... 🍫 🍪 💚

There’s a lot said these days about the younger generation not wanting to work or lacking respect, but today proved that is not always the case.

We had a young lad in with us who could not have been more different from that stereotype. Polite, mannerly, and more than willing to get stuck in from the start. He helped bring stock in, got involved fitting up GSE wheels, and even pitched in with cleaning the warehouse, sorting scrap tyres & putting stock away without being asked twice.

It’s refreshing to see that work ethic and attitude are still very much alive. Credit where it is due, top effort today 👏

When the fitters have been absolutely manic all week and you casually mention there’s still work to do tomorrow 😅

There’s only one solution: Chicken & rice all round. 🍗🍚

Let’s be honest, when your team spends their days doing seriously heavy, dirty work, keeping everything moving and customers running without downtime, you have got to look after them.

Fed fitters = happy fitters.
Happy fitters = jobs getting done (even on a Saturday 👀)

Small gesture, big impact

And no cooking for me tonight, might just be wine! 🍷
