Sometimes a straightforward looking rainwater project needs a bespoke solution.

Our customer wanted to relocate their existing rain cups to another part of the property and replace them with a copper downpipe. There was one unusual challenge: the new downpipe would not be positioned against a wall, so there was nothing conventional to secure it to.

The Metal Gutta team came up with a solution, supplying two sections of 80mm copper downpipe along with a bespoke spigot designed to secure the downpipe directly to the patio.

The finished installation looks fantastic alongside the property and planting, while the original rain cups have been given a new home elsewhere in the garden.

An iconic Isle of Wight timepiece is ticking once again.

We were delighted to be entrusted by the Spithead Masonic Lodge with the restoration of the historic clock at the Masonic Hall in Seaview, where a clock has occupied this prominent position since the building opened in 1912.

After decades of exposure to the coastal weather and numerous attempts to keep the ageing mechanism running, the clock was in need of a comprehensive restoration. For a landmark with such a long connection to the local community, preserving as much of its history as possible was an important part of the project.

Our team at Hawkins Clocks retained the original metal frame and cover glass, while manufacturing and fitting a new clock face and workings. We also installed a Clock Resynchroniser for automatic seasonal time changes and renewed the LED lighting, giving this much loved clock a new lease of life while retaining its familiar character.

Bob Cooper for the Spithead Masons said:

"The clock was there when this Lodge purchased the property 1947 and been the focal point for people passing through to check the time. Many attempts through the years have been made to keep the clock working, but severe weather and subsequent damage brought it to its end. So it was our duty to the public to raise the funds to have the clock restored to it's original iconic status, using as many parts of the original as possible. We thank Hawkins Clocks for their vision of restoring the clock so it will be working for many years to come."

It is wonderful to see the clock back where it belongs and ready to continue serving Seaview for years to come.

A fitting tribute that will be seen and appreciated by the Danbury community for many years to come.

We are proud to have supplied and installed a traditional 610mm green memorial clock at the front of Danbury Leisure Centre in Essex. Designed with care and attention to detail, the clock features elegant gilded Roman numerals, classic spade hands, and a personalised gold inscription, creating a timeless focal point that honours a much-loved local resident.

Projects like this are always especially meaningful. Working closely with Danbury Parish Council, we were able to create a bespoke public timepiece that not only enhances the building’s frontage but also serves as a lasting symbol of remembrance and community pride. Installed at the heart of village life, the clock is already becoming a familiar and cherished landmark for residents and visitors alike.

Thanks to our customer for sending in some photos from Wellington College in Berkshire, where Hawkins Clock Company supplied a new exterior clock to fit onto their existing tower.

The project included a 30 inch White Classic Roman Dial, black hands, mains mechanism and a Resynchroniser Controller, giving the existing roof turret a smart new timepiece with reliable everyday operation.

The finished result looks beautifully in keeping with the building. The white dial sits neatly within the existing clock tower, while the black Roman numerals and hands create a clear visible clock face that complement the black cricket stumps above.

This project is a great reminder that you do not always need a completely new tower to refresh a building. Sometimes just the right new clock can bring an existing feature back to life and keep it looking timeless for years to come.

As well as being decorative, a copper finial is a useful finishing detail for a roof, helping to cover and protect the meeting point at the top of the structure while adding a neat, weather resistant feature. Set high above the entrance, the clock brings a traditional architectural focal point to this smart brick building, adding character and a clear sense of identity. The classic Roman numerals and elegant hands sit beautifully against the white clock tower, creating a stunning focal point for the front of the building.

A striking new customer installation for Hawkins Clock Company at Valentine Place in London.

Photos like these always make our day, especially when a bespoke clock looks so perfectly at home in its setting.

For this project, Hawkins Clock Company supplied a double sided illuminated drum clock with two 760mm modern style acrylic dials, bespoke hands, protective cover glass, warm white LED back illumination and a Resynchroniser Controller. The clock was designed with navy blue detailing, including the Valentine logo below the number 12 and “Valentime” beneath the centre of the dial.

Mounted on a projecting bracket against the brickwork, the finished clock creates a smart focal point between the traditional and contemporary architecture surrounding Valentine Place. The clean dial design, subtle branding and bold drum style case give it a refined modern look, while the double sided format makes it highly visible from different directions.

The customer kindly sent in these brilliant photos, and it is fantastic to see the finished clock installed and looking so impressive.
