Back where it belongs.

We recently shared the story of this clock from Childwall Golf Club after it fell from the wall and the original clock face was badly smashed.

Our team manufactured a replacement dial to replicate the original design, including the club name, established date and chapter markings. The customer has now sent us this photo showing the clock reinstalled and looking smart once again.

It is a great example of how replacement clock dials can give an existing exterior clock a new lease of life without having to replace the complete feature. Good Directions can manufacture bespoke and replacement clock dials to suit individual projects, including custom lettering, logos and designs.

Thank you to Childwall Golf Club for sending us the finished photo. We always enjoy seeing our work back in situ.

A closer look at the practical side of bespoke copper flashing.

These customer photos from The Oak Installers show bespoke copper flashing supplied by Metal Gutta being incorporated into an oak framed building in Catsfield.

Flashing plays an important role in protecting a building at vulnerable junctions, helping to direct rainwater away from areas where roofs, walls and structural details meet. Copper is particularly well suited to this type of work because it combines long term durability with excellent formability, allowing it to be shaped neatly around complex architectural details.

Copper also offers strong resistance to corrosion. As it naturally weathers, the surface develops a protective patina, helping the material perform for many years while giving the building a distinctive traditional appearance.

For oak framed and heritage style projects, copper is also a popular choice because its natural finish complements traditional materials and detailed craftsmanship.

Thanks to The Oak Installers for sending us these installation photos. It is always useful to see how bespoke components perform once fitted on site.

We were delighted to attend UTC Portsmouth’s open evening for prospective students this week. It was a pleasure meeting so many enthusiastic young people and discussing the exciting opportunities available within engineering and manufacturing.

We look forward to returning for the next open evening on 14 October and meeting even more of UTC Portsmouth’s future engineers.

A clock tower can completely transform the character of a building, and this finished installation certainly makes an impressive feature.

This customer photo shows a Hawkins Clocks 900mm clock tower installed on a new outbuilding, complete with a 610mm black and opal skeleton clock dial, lead effect pagoda roof, lead effect base skirt and GRP finial. The project was supplied for OJW Construction Services.

The customer told us:

“Great product and service from Hawkins Clocks. Thank you.”

5/5 for service and product.

Our GRP clock towers are an excellent choice for roof installations because the material is strong yet lightweight. Unlike traditional timber structures, GRP will not rot and does not require ongoing maintenance such as regular painting, helping the clock tower retain its appearance with minimal upkeep.

This installation also features a Hawkins Clocks resynchroniser controller. If there is a power cut, the controller will automatically restart and correct the clock once power is restored. It also takes care of the seasonal clock changes automatically, removing the need to climb onto the roof simply to alter the time.

Looking to add a traditional clock tower to your property or building project? Speak to Hawkins Clocks about our GRP roof turrets, clock towers, clock dials and control systems.

A brilliant finishing touch to this traditional clock tower.

We were pleased to receive this customer photo showing the completed installation, featuring four 24" Hawkins Clocks Heritage Roman dials in navy blue with gilded numerals. The project also included the customer’s original clock hands being regilded, along with new clock mechanisms and a resynchroniser controller to keep all four clocks accurate and for automatic seasonal time changes.

The customer simply said:

“It looks good all installed.”

We have to agree. The deep blue dials and gilded detailing look superb against the crisp white clock tower, with the weather vane completing the traditional appearance.

What a transformation now the finishing touches are complete.

We were delighted to receive a new set of photos from a customer who had previously shared pictures of his project with us. Now that the house has been painted, his traditional exterior clock has been installed and is looking right at home.

The ornate black bracket, Roman numeral clock face and warm illumination make a striking feature against the freshly finished exterior, while the gold detailing adds a classic finishing touch.

The customer told us:
