Over the last few weeks we’ve received quite a few messages and calls regarding general servicing and vehicle recovery/movements.

While we try our best to cover everything that comes our way unfortunately sometimes we are busy looking after our customers electrical faults, carrying diagnostics into those hidden faults, auxiliary equipment installations and then a few hospitals appointments and visits chucked into the mix for good measure.

These guys below we highly recommend and trust to look after our customers, if you’re ever in need and we can’t get to you quick enough these guys are on hand help!

DB Vehicle Services - As some of you guys may be aware Dave and myself work closely ensuring our customers are kept moving. Dave is my go to right hand man who is always happy to help. Covering the same area as us, providing a top class service. (You may see us both rolling around on the floor together fighting a vehicle every now and again 🫣🤣) 👨‍🔧

2.0 VW touran experiencing a few issues.

Fuel was found to be leaking past the injector seals causing the engine oil level to rise, an EML on the dash and multiple failed DPF regenerations.

Injectors removed with all seals being renewed with genuine OE components, a set of new glow plugs, a new oxygen sensor along with a full service and a static regeneration to clear the system.

All repaired and running perfectly for many more miles to come 👍

A fault we see all to often on these sprinters!

Engine management light on the dash and a fault code stored for a NOx sensor fault, a few tests carried out with live data examined and it was determined the NOx sensor had failed.

A new genuine unit sourced, due to the location of the sensor it had to be cut as someone had fitted previously and damaged the threads 🫣 threads recut and new sensor fitted.

Adaptions reset and the vehicle is back operating as required.

Same day repair at a fraction of the main dealer price, while still using OE components 👌

Something different to our usual posts but this one’s close to our hearts ❤️🫁

Bill’s getting his ass off his chair and getting some fresh air running the London Marathon 🫣

Having two little ones with complex lung issues and one of the little ones only having one lung. The cause means a lot to us!

We are currently sat in hospital with our youngest, while he’s needing oxygen to help him and charities like these go along way.

If you can help in any way even just by sharing it would mean a lot 💙

A few wiring/lighting faults diagnosed and rectified, unfortunately poor installation has finally caught up and started to cause issues.

Wiring traced back and multiple connections found to have water-ingress causing corrosion, this has led to failed connections causing marker lights to flicker and others to completely give up.

Wiring repaired, all tested and back up to standard 🚨

Along with a few other small defects that the customer had reported. All rectified and back in top shape!

All repaired while the vehicle was booked off the road to minimise downtime and keep the wheels rolling 🛞

Double trouble for a Saturday morning!

2021 VW T-Cross with a reported recurring clutch fault. System checked over and found the clutch master cylinder to have failed allowing fluid to leak internally loosing clutch pressure.

New master cylinder supplied and fitted, system bled and now back in top shape as it should be 👨‍🔧

A Hyundai i20 which the customer reported they were driving in London when a member of the public made them aware they had no brake lights.

The customer contacted us late last night (Friday) explained the fault, a quick look at how the system worked and we arranged a new brake light switch for the morning.

Attended this morning with a new switch, carried out a few tests and confirmed the suspicion that the switch had failed. Replaced and all back working as it should 🚨

A Caddy van from earlier in the week, customer has been trying to trace a fault that was a right gremlin to find.

We attended the vehicle, removed and stripped the fuse board down and found broken contacts internally supplying signal to the main engine relay.

Contacts repaired, system tested and a previous wiring repair that was not up to standard repaired.

Vehicle is now running and customer happy to be back on the road again 👌

It always amazes me how far technology has come, we had a customer (ex mechanic) contact us with a van that wouldn’t start.

They’ve spent a long time trying to identify a fault but found themselves chasing their tail and no closer to getting to the bottom of the issue.

After an 1.5 hours on a video call with them, consulting wiring diagrams, checking pin locations, ensuring correct earths and feeds are present.

Finding out why the fuel pump had no power, why certain feed were missing that should have been present.

The key was turned and it starts straight away🎉🎉

A few more tests carried out to confirm the diagnoses and we got to the bottom of the fault!

An issue the customer has been chasing for a while can now be rectified and resolved with no more problems.

Chris! You was brilliant and was great to work with you to get to the bottom of your issue! 🧰

Now your find me sat on the sofa offering “video diagnostic” for the foreseeable future, I could get used to this 🤣

‼️‼️ Notice to all customers who have us booked in for work between today until Thursday (22nd-25th) ‼️‼️

The MET office have released multiple 🟠amber warnings 🟠 relating to the extreme increase in heat we are expected to experience in the coming days these have now been amplified to 🔴 red warnings 🔴. Its reported heats are expected to reach approximately 38*- 40*🔥

Inline with our insurance cover we have been advised that it is not safe to carry out any works during our standard operating hours due to the temperatures expected in the coming days. ☀️🌕

At the advise of our insurance provider the difficult decisions has been taken to temporarily cease all mechanical and electrical works until we receive communication from our insurance provider advising us on the next best steps to keep us operating.

Safety of us, our customers and their vehicles/equipment is always paramount, we always strive to provide the best service we possibly can while operating safely to protect us all. 👍

We will keep our customers updated once communication have been received and our next steps have been decided!
