And we’re off!

Work is officially underway at First Bus Norwich, with another depot electrification project now live on site.

The scheme includes four 400kWh DC chargers, 12 drop-down chargers, a new low-voltage panel, two gantries, and around 1,000 sqm of new concrete slab to replace the existing gravel yard and create additional parking capacity.

As with any depot electrification project, the chargers are only one part of the story. The surrounding infrastructure, layout, and day-to-day flow of the site matter just as much as the depot working properly once the new systems are in place.

Looking forward to sharing more as the project progresses!

A first for the UK, delivered in Bristol.

At Graphic Packaging International's new warehouse, we installed the first UK system to use Powrmatic Limited's nighttime heat harvesting technology – designed to recirculate naturally warmed air after hours and help maintain internal temperatures with less wasted energy.

The wider project involved the full design and installation of a bespoke warm air heating system tailored to the demands of a large, operational warehouse. Working with Powrmatic, we delivered a low-velocity setup with 680kW burners, full mechanical and electrical integration, new gas main routing around existing services, and an air barrier above the main warehouse door to help reduce heat loss during vehicle movement.

A great example of how the right heating strategy can do more than meet demand. It can also improve efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance the building's long-term performance.

Bespoke warehouse heating installation for Graphic Packaging in Bristol, including the UK’s first Powrmatic nighttime heat harvesting system for efficient, reliable performance.

One of the quickest ways to get sustainability wrong is to chase “green” without properly understanding how a building is used.

On paper, a low-carbon upgrade can look like the right move. But if it doesn’t reflect how the building operates day to day, how spaces are occupied, when demand peaks, or what the site actually needs to support, the result can fall short very quickly.

That's where practical building knowledge matters.

The right solution is one that fits the building, the people using it, and the demands placed on it over time.

That's why good projects start with questions. How does the building really function? Where are the pressures? What needs to stay consistent? What is changing in the years ahead?

Sustainability should make buildings work better, use energy more intelligently, and stay fit for the future – not add features that look good on paper but do little in practice.

👇 A good example is our electric warm air heating installation at Wiper & True Taproom, where the system is delivering consistent comfort for guests while supporting a lower carbon approach.

Iconic buildings in the city like Clifton Cathedral need services they can depend on.

We were recently back on site for a maintenance visit, following the heating system replacement we completed there last year.

Our engineer carried out planned servicing and checks across the boiler room, helping keep the system operating safely, reliably, and efficiently, while supporting the day-to-day performance of the building.

For a site like this, that matters. Heating and hot water need to operate quietly in the background, providing the building with what it needs without disruption.

Good to be back on a stunning site and to continue supporting the system as it beds in.

Community clubs are being asked to think bigger, with tighter budgets and more pressure on every decision.

That is exactly why practical upgrades matter.

At Skewen Cricket Club, a new solar PV installation is already helping reduce energy costs and strengthen the clubhouse's long-term future. But the bigger point is not just the technology itself. It’s what that kind of upgrade gives a club the confidence to do next.

When funding, clear advice, and the right delivery come together, projects like this become far more achievable. And for clubs balancing ambition with day-to-day cost pressures, that can make a real difference.

We’re proud to work alongside Criced Cymru / Cricket Wales on projects that turn support into something practical, useful, and built to last – helping clubs lower running costs, improve their facilities, and plan ahead with more certainty.

Couldn’t have asked for better weather for filming in Wales last week ☀️

We were on site at Skewen CC capturing a case study on the solar PV project we delivered there last year.

Great to spend time with Sian from Skewen Cricket CLUB and Lucy from Cricket Wales, talking through the journey behind the project and the wider impact it’s having.

Even better to have the sun shining while capturing some really positive conversations and a brilliant story to share.

Looking forward to sharing the final video soon. Stay tuned! 🎥

Work is continuing nicely at Lawrence Hill, where a major programme of site adaptations is helping prepare the depot for its next phase of electrification.

Across the site, that includes a wide range of mechanical and electrical works – from alterations, removals, and upgrades through to reconfigured spaces that better support how the depot will operate in the future. Heating, lighting, power, ventilation, welfare provision, data infrastructure, and wider building changes all form part of the picture.

A big part of the job is making the existing site work harder. Adapting spaces, reshaping layouts, and putting the right infrastructure in place now, so the depot is better prepared for the demands ahead.

Fleet electrification is about far more than charging equipment alone. The surrounding spaces, support facilities, and core building services all need to be ready for the shift as well.

Thinking beyond handover is a big part of how we approach building services.

Installation is one milestone. Long-term performance is the real measure.

How reliable is the system? How easy is it to maintain? How well will it continue to support the building as needs change over time? Those are the questions that matter just as much as the handover itself.

That longer-term view shapes decisions from the outset – from system selection and layout through to maintenance access and future capacity. A successful project is not just one that looks complete on handover day. It is one that continues to work hard long after it.

Many of our client relationships span multiple projects and sites, and that continuity gives us a stronger understanding of how each estate works in practice. It also means we can support clients more effectively as their buildings, operations and priorities evolve.

Updated shots of our air source heat pump project at Hawthorne Leisure for Clade Engineering.

When we were last on site, it was missing some of the finishing touches - the lagging, fencing and final paintwork that really bring it all together.

Now complete, the installation not only performs as it should, but looks the part too - tidy, well-finished and neatly integrated into the site, supporting more efficient and sustainable operation of their swimming facilities.

156m down at Newport Cricket Club 👷

We’re drilling a borehole to support a new sprinkler system installation, helping the club draw and reuse on-site water for pitch irrigation.

It’s a long-term solution that gives them greater control over their water supply, improving efficiency while reducing reliance on the grid.

With the season just around the corner and the sunshine making an appearance, it’s great to see this one progressing well - and we’re looking forward to seeing it all come together.

How do you start your electrification journey when you’re responsible for multiple sites?

The challenge surrounds understanding how each site operates, what each fleet needs, how power is used, and where investment will have the biggest impact first.

Because no two sites are exactly the same.

One may have the space, power and operational routine to move quickly. Another may need a more phased approach, with infrastructure planned around future demand, site constraints, and day-to-day pressures. The right strategy comes from looking at the bigger picture, and then breaking it down site by site.

Electrification can’t be treated as a single decision; it's about building a roadmap that works across the estate, supports operations properly, and gives businesses confidence in what comes next.

On top of ambition, it needs a clear plan, practical thinking, and the right infrastructure in the right places.
