Project Overview | Bath Fire Station, Bath

Working in the heart of a historic city always demands careful planning – and the demolition of the former Bath Fire Station was no exception.

This complex project required the safe removal of asbestos, a full internal soft strip and the controlled demolition of the fire station, all while operating immediately alongside a live ambulance station. Through meticulous planning, robust environmental controls and a safety-first approach, our team successfully cleared the site, ready for the next phase of its redevelopment.

Our latest Project Overview takes a closer look at:
✔️ Careful planning in a live operational environment
✔️ Asbestos removal and enabling works
✔️ Sustainable demolition and material recycling
✔️ Overcoming unexpected site challenges
✔️ Delivering a safe, efficient project for our client

Bath Fire Station was a landmark building with a long history in the city, and we were proud to be entrusted with delivering the enabling works and demolition package on this significant project.

Our team carried out a full programme of works, including asbestos removal, soft strip, demolition, ground remediation and the creation of a piling mat, all within a sensitive city-centre environment.

Projects involving historic buildings require far more than simply taking structures down. They demand careful planning, extensive surveys, robust environmental controls and a highly experienced team capable of protecting neighbouring properties, local businesses and the wider community throughout the process.

While buildings often hold a special place in the hearts of local residents, there are occasions when redevelopment becomes necessary to meet modern safety standards, operational requirements and the future needs of a city. Our role is to ensure that process is carried out safely, responsibly and with the utmost respect for both the site and its surroundings.

We would like to thank everyone involved in the successful delivery of this project.

A selection of photos from our near-complete project in Caerleon, South Wales.

Over the past 12 weeks, we’ve carefully soft stripped, cleared and demolished part of a live school environment—navigating ecology, archaeology and licensed asbestos works, all while maintaining programme.

Another successful project delivered, and a pleasure to be working with a valued repeat client.

Scaffold complete in the centre of Cheltenham where we’re removing the link bridge between Cavendish House and Regent Arcade. Working to a tight programme and within a particularly sensitive environment, the bridge will be removed using a combination of dismantling and remote demolition methods.

We have maintained vehicular and pedestrian access to either side of the bridge throughout, causing minimal disruption to local residents and businesses.
