We recently carried out a comprehensive hydraulic lift modernisation for a multi million pound automotive company. Head quartered in Leeds, they specialise in cars and other vehicles.

Their lift had become old and unreliable. LEIA typically recommend a lift upgrade after 15 years, this lift was over 15 years old and urgently needed work.

The control panel on this lift was in dire need of a replacement. We utilised the Kollmorgen UK Control system with the MPK411. As well as this, we used Bucher Hydraulics for the hydraulic system in the lift.

The Kollmorgen equipment was supplied directly by them and supported by both Gavin Wager and Andy Lavery.

The door operator was faulty and needed replacement. Luckily, the Langer and Laumann operation supplied by Shorts Industries Ltd is perfect for this. In our opinion, the L&L door operation systems are some of the best on the market.

We recently installed a platform lift for a School in Tyne and wear. The school in question previously had no real disabled access solution, which made accessibility for those with mobility issues tricky. However, the school were happy to invest in a platform lift.

Ascendant lifts offer lift maintenance around the northwest, northeast and Yorkshire. However, we also do maintenance throughout the entire UK, not just in the aforementioned areas. No matter where you are in the nation, you will 100% get a great level of service from us and that's a promise.

A proper lift maintenance schedule may be the lifeline your lift needs. In the UK, you must get a minimum of 2 lift maintenance visits a year (these are separate from LOLERS). However, due to frequent usage and other factors, we may recommend more if necessary.

We have just completed an installation of a 1000kg goods platform lift for a valued client of ours. The client contacted us as they required an additional lift within their care facility. Shortly after they contacted us, we attended site to carry out a survey on the building. As well as this, it was an opportunity to discuss the clients needs and get more familiar with them.

Helping us on this project, was one of our trusty suppliers, who we can rely on to do a good job. After a conversation with the client, we reached the conclusion that a 1000kg goods platform lift is the ideal solution. This platform goods lift is capable of moving patients on stretchers.

Furthermore, after liasing with various suppliers, we all came to the joint decision that a 1000kg platform by Innovation Lift Scandinavia AB (ILS) was perfect for the job at hand.

After providing a detailed quote for all aspects of the lift work needed, the client accepted. Luckily, the clients building contractor was engaged to carry our all preparation works whilst the lift was being manufactured.

During production, our communication with the client and building contractor stayed frequent and consistent. They were informed of all stages of production and were kept in the loop. Upon completion of the lift, we had it shipped straight to site and our supply partner began the installation process.

After the work was all done, our installation engineers returned to site to carry out final testing and commissioning of the lift installation.

Who doesn't love the hot weather? with stunning scenery and everyone being in a good mood, its always a good time. With us recently having a bank holiday, it means we have all been enjoying ourselves.

As the heat looks like its here to stay for a bit and with summer coming up, its important to note the effects hot weather has on lifts.

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗲𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗰𝘁𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗵𝗼𝘁 𝘄𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗼𝗻 𝗹𝗶𝗳𝘁𝘀

The hot weather (temperature and moisture) on hydraulic lifts can be significant, affecting their performance and reliability. High temperatures can cause the hydraulic fluid to thin (opposite to cold motor rooms), which can result in unreliable operation and downtime. Extreme temperatures can impact equipment and human safety.

Many old hydraulic passenger lifts have external motor rooms on the outside of a building that can get very hot in the summer or during a heatwave. Also the lift control system and other equipment can be affected by the extreme temperatures.

𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗧𝗼 𝗥𝗲𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗲 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗛𝗼𝘁 𝗪𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗘𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗰𝘁𝘀:

🌡️ Ensure the lifts are maintained regularly (2 visits per annum minimum).
🌡️ Undergo 2 LOLER inspections per annum (this is minimum).
🌡️ Keep the motor room temperature between 15c and 25c.
🌡️ Ensure the lift shaft and door area is also between 15c and 25c.
🌡️ Make sure urgent work or LOLER advice is always completed.
🌡️ Listen to the advice from the lift company on preventative work

We have recently sponsored the Heyside Blues Junior team in Oldham

The formed together last June once they had all finished in the academy which is where they start ages 3-5. They started the season in division 4 quickly progressing to division 1 after a few weeks.

Heyside Blues Junior team were then promoted again at Christmas time to the Championship where once again they have performed amazingly. They finished the season with only one loss which was 1-0 and other than that have won every game including the cup final which produced smiles and happy tears from the boys that will stay with those involved forever.

They scored an impressive 258 goals over the season and only conceded 38 which for their first season was fantastic.

We are honoured to have been giving the opportunity to promote and support such an amazing team. We wish them every success for the future. They have so much potential and a bright future ahead of them.

Lifts in the industry are quite often compared to cars, this is due to the fact that regular and thorough maintenance = better performance. This is something that rings true with most things, if you look after something, it should look after you.

When both sides work together (you and your lift company) it makes for better performance and reliability. You can help your lift company by booking in regular maintenance and the lift company can help by being honest and spotting all faults.

We recently finished a lift refurbishment for a client in Hemel Hempstead. They were experiencing issues as the lift was past its lifespan and it frequently broke down. As the lift was old, we knew it was in desperate need of a lift refurbishment, that's where we come in.
