Full rake out and re point of this washed out old brick chimney. Luckily the bricks were still ok and not spalling. Good bit of preventative work mitigating the need for a full re build down the line.

I try to be as transparent as I can when documenting transformations but this is probably one of the most dangerously put together DIY jobs we’ve come across.

We originally priced to make the chamber safe and re decorate with slips and new stove.

I then discovered the whole breast was made from timber and expanding foam and the multi fuel stove was also hooked up to a gas liner held up with nails.

We completely removed all work and re boarded the breast, brick slipped the chamber including the hearth. Fitted a gorgeous Dean Forge dory blue Dartmoor and new Specflue flue system.

All work was completed within the original price estimated for the customers just required a bit more elbow grease 🤝

Job completed in a gorgeous property in talland bay last week.

Old Dovre stove, badly affected by incorrect fitting of flue allowing water to corrode the cast body.

Replaced with a Dean Forge Woodbury slimline 5. And Specflue technoflex liner system.

Lovely little contemporary job finished today in harrowbarrow. Termatech TT20R. Specflue core TW. Karrek Stone hearth.

A little transformation of this bungalow stone fire surround into a more modern finish free standing stove. Back boiler removed and chamber rendered with Salamander Stoves hobbit fitted on a rear flue wedge to allow kettle to be placed on top. Karrek Stone hearth and symphony oak effect beam.

Bit of a shocker on this job in Tavistock. This was connected to a 4 year old Charnwood c5 and filling the house up with smoke. Also duct tape isn’t usually advised for sealing your joints. New ICID flex to twin system fitted.

If your chimney had been removed below roof level we can still utilise it without the cost of a chimney rebuild !
