Blast ’em!

Before components head over for powder coating, the surface needs to be prepared properly, which is where shot blasting process comes in!

Using pressurised air, abrasive media is fired across ferrous metal surfaces to remove contaminants and create a suitable finish before coating.

It's one of the many steps we take to help ensure every finished fabrication leaves us looking the part and built to last. 👍

Our partner in crime for keeping sheet metal production moving... the AS L*L 3015. 💪

With automatic loading and unloading handling the sheet movement, the laser spends more time cutting and less time waiting. That means our engineers can focus on programming, quality checks and keeping work flowing through production.

It's almost criminal how much of a difference it makes on the shop floor. 🤩

Monday morning deliveries are getting sorted. 🫡

The last few days have kept the team busy, and our drivers have certainly been clocking up the miles, heading across the South, Midlands, North and Wales with completed orders.

Having our own vans means we can take care of deliveries ourselves, keeping control of the process right through to the customer!

We've got that Friday feeling. 👏

There's always a bit of satisfaction seeing a job reach final assembly, especially when every stage has been completed by our team.

From fabrication and machining through to finishing and assembly, every department has played its part. Seeing it all come together is a good reminder that the finished product is only possible because of everything that's gone before it.

Now to get this one over the line before the weekend.

Our job this afternoon: to get parts ready for powder coating.

This morning was all about laser cutting and folding panels, covers and back plates for electrical enclosures. Now the Turbex has taken over, getting everything cleaned up before the parts head across for powder coating.

It's an important stage after laser cutting and deburring to leave a clean surface ready for the finish that's still to come. 🙌

Taking pride of place on the factory floor. 🤩

The Amada EG 4010 has been busy this morning, forming a batch of complex components as they move through production.

Its servo-electric drive system delivers accurate, repeatable bend angles across the entire batch, maintaining consistency from the first component to the last before they move on to assembly.

These won't be on the press brake for much longer. Onto the next stage. 👌

We're going to blast the socks off these parts.

Well... they don't actually wear socks, but they are heading into the shot blasting process this morning.

Before they can be powder coated or painted, the surface needs to be cleaned and prepared so the finish has the best chance of lasting. We use an iron phosphate process as part of that, giving the parts a clean surface that's ready for the next stage.

Now it's time to get this batch through the booth and ready for paint. 👌
