It is with the heaviest of hearts that we pay tribute to Nancy-Grace Wood, who has passed away aged just seven after facing an incredibly difficult illness with remarkable determination and strength. 🩵

The beloved daughter of our Assistant Site Manager, Gavin Wood, granddaughter of our Contracts Manager, Nyron Wood, and niece to Site Manager Christopher Wood, Nancy-Grace showed a bravery far beyond her years over the past few months - every bit her grandfather Nyron’s “warrior hero”.🦸🏼‍♀️

Nancy-Grace will always be an important part of our Willis work family, remembered fondly for joining our community activities and fundraising challenges, along with her sister and cousin, proudly cheering on her Grandad. She will hold a special place with those at Willis who knew her and shared those moments.

There are no words that can ease the pain of such a devastating loss. Our thoughts, deepest sympathies and wholehearted compassion are with the entire Wood family.

At this incredibly difficult time, we are grateful for the kindness, understanding and support shown to the family by our clients, supply chain partners and wider network, as we do everything we can to stand alongside the Woods as they navigate the days ahead.

The ‘Bows of Courage campaign, created by Cwmclydach Primary School, has been a powerful show of love and support for Nancy-Grace. As a mark of respect, the bows will be displayed across the Willis Construction fleet in honour of her courage and the community standing beside those close to her.🩵

📢New Project Commencing📢

Working in partnership with Hedyn, we'll be transforming the former 'Open Hearth Pub' site, Ringland, into a new development of 32 high-quality affordable homes. Alongside delivering new homes, we're committed to working closely with the local community to create lasting social value and positive opportunities throughout the build. 🏘️

As we prepare to commence the enabling works on site, our team has spent time hand-delivering our first resident newsletters; introducing ourselves, sharing information about the project, and ensuring the community know how to contact us throughout the build. We believe that keeping our neighbours informed, listening to feedback and building positive relationships is an important part of every project we deliver. ❤️

What a wonderful way to round off the week with a sunny Friday at Pontlliw Primary School’s Year 5&6 pupils, for them to learn more about the wide range of construction careers available, as well as the updates on on our development we’re undertaking in partnership with Codi Group

The children learned more about the wide variety of opportunities there are within the construction industry, and from their ‘what would I like to be’ activity, we discovered there are budding Architects, Carpenters, Landscapers and Social Value Managers in the village!

We look forward to continuing our partnership with the school as the build progresses.
