Now that the dust has settled on what was a momentous weekend for us at Cwmafan R.F.C. we reflect.
First and foremost, immense credit must go to our players. What a privilege it has been to watch this group grow, develop and mature into formidable young men. Men of character, standards and leadership. Their commitment, discipline and togetherness have set the tone for everything achieved this season.
What we achieved on the field was special, but it was built long before the final whistle. It was built through the strength of the Cwmafan R.F.C. family.
We are proud of every part of this club. Our coaches who invest their time and knowledge. Our volunteers and committee who work tirelessly behind the scenes. Our valued sponsors whose support helps drive us forward. Our supporters, families and friends who stand with us every step of the way.
Success is never built on talent alone. It is built on culture, standards and togetherness. It is built on trust, accountability and shared purpose. It is built on turning up when it is hard and doing the unseen work when nobody is watching.
This team is a direct result of our Age Grade production line and the countless hours put into growing these individuals and we are proud of that commitment carrying on to this day with our current youngsters.
At Cwmafan R.F.C. we believe that while beating the opposition is the aim, bettering ourselves is what makes those victories possible. Improving daily. Working harder. Staying humble. Respecting the jersey and respecting each other.
That is our ethos. That is our culture. That is who we are.
This weekend we saw the reward for those values. League winners. Promotion secured. But more importantly, a group of players who have become leaders and a club moving forward together.
We thank everyone who plays their part in our journey.
This belongs to all of us.
Champions. Promoted. Built the right way and only scratching the surface of what we will become.
The players thoughts can now turn to the annual pilgrimage to Benidorm, to presentation night and a well deserved restful Off-Season. But it won't be long until we are back at it again preparing, bettering ourselves, for what lies in store in Division 2
