Tyco Suzuki's Guy Martin made a victorious start to the 2014 road racing season at the Ian Watson Spring Cup meeting at Scarborough on Sunday.

The Kirmington rider fired off a treble, winning the feature Spring Cup race for the third time on the TAS Racing GSX-R1000 and completing his hat-trick at the Oliver's Mount circuit with victories in the Senior and Junior races.

Martin, who started from pole position, won the main race by almost four seconds from Ivan Lintin, with Dean Harrison third on the RC Express Kawasaki. East Coast Racing's Lee Johnston was fourth from James Cowton and Seamus Elliott.

His margin of victory in the Senior A race was 4.189s over Harrison in second, with Johnston finishing third.

Martin didn't make the best of starts in the Junior race on his GSX-R600 but battled through to pass Cowton on lap three and opened an advantage of five seconds on his way to another comfortable win. Harrison took the runner-up spot with Cowton third and Lintin next.

By lap three, Martin had worked his way into the lead on his 600cc Suzuki and never looked back, going on to win by 5.222 seconds from Harrison and Cowton, with Lintin, Elliott and Daley Mathison next
