The beautifully restored Brackley Town Hall won an RIBA East Midlands Award last night - big congratulations to all the team! We are proud of our part in this HLF-funded success story; the landscape works are modest but powerful, helping to anchor and connect this lovely building back to its rightful place at the heart of the town. Looking forward to hearing about all the exciting community events planned for the coming year... Read more about this great project at https://brackleytownhall.org.uk/

We are so excited to finally unveil our proposals for our 'playful connection' in Cromer which makes a neglected corner of beautiful North Lodge Park fully accessible from the wider park, town and seafront.

The Zig Zag is a route but also a destination; a look out with portholes, a telescope and bench seating, and incorporates climbing and sliding for small children, a netty hammock for lolling around on and a den space beneath.

Upper Lawn, once a colourfully planted putting green and now a slightly bleak area of close-mown grass will become a free play space, with fun playful elements and seating dotted amongst meadow grass and planted beds. The aim is to encourage people of all ages and abilities to get more out of this lovely greenspace above the beach, with its fantastic views out to sea and to the picturesque historic centre of Cromer. Also, there are very, very good cakes and coffee in the community-run cafe!

A £190,000 revamp of a Cromer park has moved a step closer with a planning application now registered with the district council.

We are very excited to be presenting our detailed proposals to the local community next week ... this week we will be using amazing drone footage taken yesterday to build some CGIs to help show people how the proposals will look in hopefully less than a year from now

Playful Connection to bring the Park together

Developing the ideas which were well received at our March AGM, the landscape architects we are working with, AREA, have focused on the Upper Lawn. They have produced a practical plan for bringing the area into the rest of the Park with play elements - a ‘playful connection’- linking the Upper Lawn with the main area of the Park. This neatly provides a much-needed new bridge, providing play facilities, and brings the park together.

You are invited to join us in the Community Hall on Wednesday 17th October at 7.30pm to see the proposals and discuss the ideas with AREA. All being well with the design and funding, we would aim to implement the proposals next year.

This a major, positive step in what can sometimes feel a slow journey to develop the Park as people in Cromer have requested. We are pleased to have the support of North Norfolk District Council, and are proud of the proposals from AREA.

Southerly steps to Brackley Town Hall almost complete ready for the grand re-opening later this month

Over the last week or so, a brand new set of steps has risen at the south end of the Town Hall. A lot of people have been coming into the Town Council Office to comment on how beautiful they look… but why have we added steps? In living memory, there has only ever been … Continue reading The Sout...

Ruth and I loved labouring in the blazing sun for the irrepressible ann-marie powell gardens at Hampton Court last week, helping create the Countryfile 30th anniversary garden. A getaway from the computer screen and a chance to mingle with new friends who are at the business end of landscape design. A lesson in a painterly approach to using plants and materials as well as fantastic team work. Hats off to you all!

More than 80 per cent of the plants used are native to the British Isles.
