Newly quarried stone can be aged to give it more character. There are varying degrees of aging available and it can be a cheaper and more easily sourced alternative to reclaimed stone. This recent example at one of our sites is only lightly aged.

This new type of underfloor heating system Connor is fitting means you no longer have to dig up and re-screed your floor. Quicker, cleaner and your new flooring covering can be laid straight over the top.

When fitting a window into an old building the windows must be recessed to give the appropriate effect. The new window here is composite, but is of a specific design and manufacture to have been approved for use by Peak District National Park as an alternative to wood.

An old stone roof is collapsing on a 30 meter long barn. Conservation dictates that as much of the original stone must be re-used, so each tile must be removed and “graded” ( arranged into sizes). A new timber roof structure built and then the stone relayed. An incredible job done by the joinery and roofing teams.

Renovation of old buildings, particularly those in the Peak Park and conservation areas, must be done to very specific standards in order to maintain the character of the building.

CAS is proud to work with a team of craftsmen who have extensive experience in this area so you know you are in good hands.

Here, Mark has scraped out all of the existing pointing and used a traditional lime mortar mix which is then brushed to get this beautiful effect.
