Access to a sustainable supply of freshwater is essential for productive fruit farming. We were pleased to complete another drilling project recently for a long-standing client, continuing our work to significantly expand their groundwater supply.

Our proven water well process helps clients to explore the potential for groundwater abstraction in a more cost-effective and less risky manner.

Congratulations to all participants and officials at the 62nd Tom Scott Road Races, hosted by local club Law & District AAC on Sunday. We were very pleased to continue our support for the event, which saw a strong field assemble despite the adverse weather.

Special mention goes to the winners of the historic 10 Mile race, with Lewis Hannigan (435) holding off his club mate and double-Olympian, Callum Hawkins (817).

The ladies winner was Yvonne McNairn (903), who claimed victory in the 10 Mile for the very first time.

We are very pleased to be supporting the Tom Scott Road Races, an historic 10 Mile road running race which will be held for the 62nd time this weekend. The event, which doubles up as the National 10 Mile Champs, is hosted by the local athletics club and charity, Law & District AAC. Good luck to everyone involved!

Preliminary drilling in eastern Scotland, to gain greater understanding of the geology and hydrogeology. As we always say... "you don't know until you drill".

Our team were delighted to welcome our modified special purpose vehicle to the field, for this mineral exploration project in central Scotland.

Due the remote nature of the site and soft terrain, assistance was required to move materials and equipment between the site access and the drilling locations. Our SPV came to the rescue, saving time and money for our client.

These works were carried out as part of an extensive rotary open-hole and core drilling programme, to gain a greater understanding of the extent of bedrock minerals.

We were very pleased to be engaged by a valued client, to carry out the construction of a deep, large diameter water well at their site in the North-East of Scotland.

16" permanent steel casing was installed through the superficial deposits into competent rock, following which our crew progressed downhole in 14 3/4" diameter to the target depth of 180 metres.

Following completion of drilling, the well was developed and fitted with downhole materials, to permit the subsequent installation of a high-flow 8" borehole pump and permanent magnet motor.

The project team now turn their attention to the next phase, to carry out abstraction testing and monitoring.

Exciting progress on a recent groundwater investigation project in eastern Scotland!

We were delighted to support a valued client in assessing potential groundwater availability at their processing facility. Given the need for a substantial yield, a preliminary drilling exercise was undertaken — and as the photo shows, the results were promising.

With encouraging findings in hand, attention now turns to the next phase: developing a large-diameter production well to meet the site's long-term water needs.

Mineral exploration in the Scottish hills

Challenging terrain, vast scope, and precise drilling—this project had it all.

📍 Borehole locations spanned a wide area across soft, uneven ground, utilising the stability of a 50" tracked Hycat rig.

🛠️ Works included deep rotary open-hole and rotary core drilling through hard strata to recover core samples from the deeper mineral deposits.
