Kestrel Homes & Construction is pleased to announce an opportunity for a dynamic, enthusiastic Trainee/Apprentice Quantity Surveyor to join our busy office in Earls Colne.
Projects will vary but include high-profile, complex projects across the commercial, and residential sectors in Essex and Suffolk.
Performance Objectives
• Assist in preparing cost estimates, budgets, and financial forecasts for construction projects.
• Monitor project expenditures to ensure alignment with approved budgets.
• Support in cost analysis and variance reporting to highlight potential risks or savings.
• Contribute to procurement processes, including drafting tender documentation and evaluating supplier proposals.
• Assist with contract management, ensuring compliance with agreed terms and conditions.
• Build and maintain professional relationships with subcontractors and suppliers.
Person Specification
• Previous experience within a construction or quantity surveying environment is advantageous.

Person Specification
• Previous experience within a construction or quantity surveying environment is advantageous.
• Strong numerical, and attention-to-detail skills.
• Knowledge in software tools such as Excel, or equivalent quantity surveying platforms.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Strong organisational and time management skills.
• Motivated, proactive, and eager to develop professional expertise.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a dynamic team.
• Problem-solving skills.
