Here’s a Sunday throwback from another job of ours - a gorgeous extension with proper exposed brick walls (no fancy brick slips here), a nicely finished plastered ceiling with skimmed reveals to the skylight in the flat roof. Absolutely loved this job - full of challenges from sourcing a brick to match the 1800s building to delays in materials getting hold of glass for the windows and doors etc. But my word what a transformation.
Built outwards from the existing kitchen with a large steel lintel holding the new opening up in place, some HUGE windows for such a small space at 3 metres wide on the front, hand made in solid wood with a solid oak door, fitted and now painted in a lovely green.
We completed all brickwork, the rubber flat roof, added a roof lantern for great light all day long, 12 down lights in the ceiling, 150mm insulation, boarded the room out in insulated plasterboard, skimmed, completed all electrical work, flooring. The whole works!
