Fabricator Welder

Gray Fabrication is currently looking to fill two Modern Apprenticeship positions. We are a family-owned company servicing the Energy sectors for over 40 years, specialising in the rolling, bending and pressing of heavy plate.

About the Role:
As an apprentice with Gray Fabrication, you will be joining a long-established organisation where you will be provided with training and support to develop valuable skills, earn qualifications and the opportunity to establish yourself as a valued member of the Company.

The programme will follow the Apprenticeship Framework attending college as required whilst we support you working towards completing a Modern Apprenticeship SVQ Level 7 Fabricator welder. When not at college, you will develop your practical skills in our various workshops.

Key Requirements:
· National 5’s in English & Maths at C and above. A science/tech subject would be advantageous.
· Or an NC or equivalent.
· Ability to learn new tasks quickly and to multitask required
· Candidates should have a strong work ethic, be reliable, conscientious and enjoy working as part of a team.

The highlight of the event? Gray Fabrication Ltd was honored to receive the Bronze Employer Recognition Scheme Award! From Highland Reserve Forces and Cadets Association 🏆

We are proud to support our Armed Forces community and the incredible skills they bring to the civilian workforce.

Fabrication Workshop Manager

About The Role
We have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Foreperson, Workshop Manager or Supervisor ready for the challenge of managing our light fabrication shop.
As Workshop Manager, you will oversee the full day-to-day operation of the workshop, driving efficiency, quality, and compliance.

Responsibilities
*Lead, motivate and develop the workshop team to ensure smooth daily operations.
*Liaise with our existing client base as well as identify potential new customers.
*Collate man hours and materials for invoicing purposes.
*Oversee fabrication, welding, and assembly processes to meet production and quality targets.
*Maintain safety standards and ensure compliance with industry regulations.
*Coordinate closely with fabrication and welding supervisors and project engineers to ensure production targets are met.

Qualifications
*Proven experience in Fabrication workshop and supervision.
*Strong leadership and organizational skills.
*Ability to read technical drawings and understand fabrication processes.
*Good communication skills and team management abilities.
*Knowledge of health and safety regulations within a manufacturing environment.
*Preferred: Basic Microsoft Works knowledge

About Gray Fabrication

Gray Fabrication is a medium to heavy Fabrication/Engineering Company based in Cupar, Fife. We have more than 40 years of extensive experience servicing the Offshore, Energy and General Engineering sectors and more recently, the Renewables industry.

4 Day working week: 4 x 9.75hrs - £42k to 46k depending on experience.
Overtime rates are x 1.5 Monday – Saturday and x 2 Sunday.
Annual holidays 257.4 hours – flexible subject to suitable cover and Christmas/New Year break.
