We're hiring problem solvers, not just electricians.

Wilson Power & Energy is growing, and we're looking for qualified electricians to join our Secure Power & Renewables division.

We work on UPS systems, solar PV, EV charging and battery energy storage across data centres, hospitals, financial institutions and large-scale industrial sites throughout Northern Ireland, ROI, UK and Europe. It's technically demanding work in critical environments.

The person we're looking for has that engineer's mindset: someone who sees a fault and works it out, who wants to understand why a system isn't performing rather than just replacing the part. If you're a few years into your career and ready to move beyond repetitive installs, there's real scope here to build genuine technical expertise.

What we offer:
- £35k–£45k depending on experience
- Paid travel time
- Company van, tools, laptop, mobile and uniform
- Training with global technology partners
- Exposure to major national infrastructure projects
- Pension, performance bonuses and clear progression into specialist power and energy roles

Attention Northern Ireland businesses. The government is offering up to £30,000 toward your Solar PV installation. But only while funds last.

The 2026/27 Commercial NISEP Scheme is open right now, and it won't wait for you.

✅ Up to 20% grant funding on your commercial Solar PV installation
✅ Up to £30,000 per eligible business
✅ Available to businesses across Northern Ireland
✅ Managed through Power NI (you must have a grant offer letter before you order anything)

There's no pot being refilled. Funds are capped, allocated strictly first come, first served, and the scheme closes March 2027 — or the moment the money runs out, whichever comes first.

If you've been sitting on a solar decision, this is the nudge you needed.

At Wilson Power & Energy, we design and install commercial Solar PV systems across Northern Ireland, ROI, and GB. We'll help you understand your eligibility, spec your system correctly, and get it delivered to the standard that protects your investment.

The G99/NI Fast Track is changing on the May 1st 2026 and it's a meaningful shift for anyone considering solar, battery storage, or both.
The headline: NIE Networks is raising the Total Installed Capacity limit from 16A to 60A per phase. That's up to 13.8 kW on single phase or 41.4 kW on three phase, under the same streamlined Fast Track route. Same application fee. Maximum Export Capacity stays the same too, at 3.68 / 11.04 kW.
What it really means: you can size a system around what your site actually uses, not around an artificial grid ceiling. Bigger solar arrays and meaningful battery storage under a single Fast Track application, instead of being pushed into a full G99 process.
For small and medium businesses, this is the change that makes commercial rooftop solar meaningfully more workable under Fast Track. NIE itself is expecting a significant uptick in renewable and BESS connections from the 1st of May.
If a project didn't quite stack up under the old rules, it's worth a fresh look.
