In 2025 our team delivered the solar PV installation at Sysco Belfast, the new 210,000 sq ft distribution hub at Nutts Corner, Co. Antrim. More than 2,600 panels now help power the site. The site was built to BREEAM standards as part of a wider renewable energy strategy. We were proud to look after the solar side of it: design, installation, wiring and commissioning.
We didn’t stop at handover. Our engineers were back on site recently for planned maintenance, checking everything is safe, clean and generating as it should. Regular O&M is how a solar system keeps paying back for its full lifetime.

Applications are now open for the €26m Shared Island Sustainability Challenge Fund, delivered by Enterprise Ireland Invest Northern Ireland and InterTradeIreland.

It's aimed at manufacturers across Ireland and Northern Ireland with first-of-a-kind decarbonisation projects, and flexible industrial electrification is one of the four challenge areas. That's exactly what we do.

We've seen what this funding can do up close. Our team is currently delivering Capper Trading Limited's renewable energy hub at Tamnamore, one of the pilot projects funded by the scheme.

It's a big one for us: roughly 3.7 MWp of roof and ground-mounted solar, 2 MW / 6.688 MWh battery, a bi-directional link between Capper's two sites on either side of the M1, an HV upgrade that facilitates export capabilities, and EV charging infrastructure including 2 x 500 kW high-power charger, to support Capper's move to an electric fleet. Once it's running, it should produce around 3.1 million kWh of renewable electricity a year and take more than 1,250 tonnes of carbon out of the company's emissions.

The person we're looking for has that engineer's mindset: someone who sees a fault and works it out, who wants to understand why a system isn't performing rather than just replacing the part. The G99/NI Fast Track is changing on the May 1st 2026 and it's a meaningful shift for anyone considering solar, battery storage, or both.
The headline: NIE Networks is raising the Total Installed Capacity limit from 16A to 60A per phase. That's up to 13.8 kW on single phase or 41.4 kW on three phase, under the same streamlined Fast Track route. Same application fee. Maximum Export Capacity stays the same too, at 3.68 / 11.04 kW.
What it really means: you can size a system around what your site actually uses, not around an artificial grid ceiling. Bigger solar arrays and meaningful battery storage under a single Fast Track application, instead of being pushed into a full G99 process.
For small and medium businesses, this is the change that makes commercial rooftop solar meaningfully more workable under Fast Track. NIE itself is expecting a significant uptick in renewable and BESS connections from the 1st of May.
If a project didn't quite stack up under the old rules, it's worth a fresh look.

This month, Director Andrew Wilson was invited to the UK delegation on the Data Centre Trade Mission to the Netherlands, alongside industry leaders at Kickstart Europe 2026 in Amsterdam, hosted with support from the British Embassy in The Hague.
The visit included a data centre site tour, technical briefings, and roundtable discussions focused on the future of resilient, energy-aware infrastructure across Europe.
With data centre demand accelerating, these conversations are directly shaping how we continue to develop our capabilities around secure power, UPS systems, battery energy storage (BESS), and hybrid energy solutions for mission-critical environments.

Proud to be on site at Capper Trading Ltd Tamnamore today for the announcement of their £6m renewable energy hub investment, supported by the Shared Island Sustainability Capital Grant scheme funded by Government of Ireland through the Shared Island Enterprise Scheme, in partnership with InterTradeIreland and Enterprise Ireland.

Wilson Power & Energy is delivering the interconnected solar PV, battery energy storage and EV infrastructure that will support this project across two sites, enabling on-site renewable electricity generation for low-carbon manufacturing.

Subject to planning approval, the hub is expected to generate 3.1 million units of renewable electricity per year and remove over 1,250 tonnes of carbon from company emissions.
