The scaffold industry doesn’t get talked about much outside of construction.

But it probably should.

Because almost every trade on a site relies on it in some form - roofers, bricklayers, renderers, window installers, cleaners, inspectors. If the scaffold is wrong, everything slows down or adapts around it.

What people outside the industry don’t always see is how many moving parts sit behind “just scaffold”.

Programme pressure.
Changing drawings.
Live site conditions.
Multiple trades sharing the same access.
And decisions that have to work first time, not in theory.

When it’s done properly, you don’t really notice it - and that’s the point.

Our scaffold game has always been strong.

We’ve built it the hard way - on live sites, tight programmes, and projects where there’s no room for second best.

Learn the lingo with us:

The fundamental poles and components of a scaffold include:

Standards:
The vertical upright poles that bear the weight of the entire structure and transfer the load to the ground.

Ledgers:
The horizontal poles that run parallel to the building or structure, connecting the standards together to form the main structural framework.

Poles:
While "pole" is a general term, in professional UK scaffolding, these are referred to as steel or aluminium tubes.

Together with transoms (the shorter horizontal poles that connect ledgers and support the boards), these components form the basic grid of any traditional tube-and-fitting scaffold.

When it comes to commercial developments, we're not always the cheapest quote - and we're okay with that.

There's a reason scaffold tenders vary by 30-40% across contractors. The variance isn't in the steel.

It's in the edge protection. The ladder access tower. The second lift. The weekly inspection allowance. The CISRS-carded operatives...

Some may say that we are perfectionists...😏

If you're not in the trade you probably wouldn't know that a spirit level is an essential bit of our kit.

We check that all poles, standards, and ledgers are perfectly vertical and horizontal because if a scaffold is not level, the entire structure risks becoming unstable and toppling over.

There's your fun fact for the day, you can thank us later 😅
