Weld to Work is back!

The Weld to Work programme has been developed in response to local employer demand and provides a structured 11-week pathway into the sector, in partnership with DG Works. It combines practical, workshop-based learning at college with structured work placement opportunities aligned to real employment routes.

The programme covers health and safety, practical welding, underpinning theory including gases, settings and components, weld strength testing, and fabrication using technical drawings. It is designed to equip participants with foundational welding skills and support progression into further education, employment or a Modern Apprenticeship.

To join Weld to Work, attendance at the information session on Wednesday 18th March is mandatory.

This programme has been piloted through the AIMS Project, its hands on, context driven (helps participants to see what live local jobs entail), and College staff are highly experienced as lecturer's as well as knowing local businesses.
