Both combinations are giving great results,

💥Slurry Separation💥

Study shows benefits of separation ⬇️🌱
A recent study set out the numerous benefits that separation offers grassland systems. It shows that the use of separated slurry significantly increased plant productivity by 12%, plant nitrogen 👎 uptake by 21%, and the total amount of N removed following harvest by 20% compared to an unseparated slurry alternative.
For producers looking to reduce reliance on bought-in fertiliser, the work also reveals that fertiliser N retention in topsoil organic N increased by 8%. This led to higher plant uptake and soil storage of fertiliser N, with total gaseous N losses from separated slurry decreasing by almost 25%.

There’s also a bigger opportunity around recirculating nutrients using your own materials. By separating and making better use of slurry produced on-farm, nutrients can be captured, retained and returned to the land where they’re needed — helping reduce reliance on bought-in fertiliser while getting more value from resources already available within the farm system. ♻️🌱
