Earlier this week we had the pleasure of visiting EcoHelical who gave us a live demonstration of their equipment and processes.

It was a valuable opportunity to learn from their helical piling expertise, gather feedback and answer questions.

Thanks again to EcoHelical for hosting us!

Wind-assisted propulsion is gaining attention as a practical way to reduce fuel consumption and emissions in commercial shipping. But how do you accurately measure its real-world impact?

In our latest case study, we explore how Datum Electronics supported Project AirTwin (CMDC6) by installing marine shaft power meters aboard MV Vectis Progress. The systems provided independent propulsion measurements to help evaluate the performance of wind-assisted propulsion, AI control, and voyage optimisation technologies in real operating conditions.

We're proud to have contributed alongside GT Wings, University of Bath, OCEATA, Carisbrooke Shipping, and Innovate UK on a project helping advance data-backed maritime decarbonisation.

New Case Study: RADIX 8000 PTM

Accurate torque data plays a key role in verifying ground screw installations.

In our latest case study, we look at how we worked with RADIX to develop the RADIX 8000 PTM, evolving from initial testing with standard sensors into a compact, wireless system designed for handheld installation equipment.

The result is a solution now used on site and available as part of RADIX’s ground screw installation equipment range, supporting a consistent, data-driven approach to installation.

April's featured a walk along the sunny East Cowes seafront followed by board games & cake (of course). 🏖️☀️🍰

NB: Desk building entirely unrelated, but seemingly just as enjoyable.
