"Please update our consumer units and provide adequate power supplies to our office outbuildings."

Tobin Electrical Contractors Solution: ⚡

✔️ Replaced the existing consumer units with a sleek double-stack 22-way board, complete with a bespoke 100mA main switch, 30mA RCBO protection throughout, and Type 2 Surge Protection Devices (SPD).

✔️ Installed a new 16mm² SWA supply to the office suite and a 10mm² SWA supply to the storage unit.

✔️ Both outbuildings were fitted with new 7-way consumer units incorporating RCBO and SPD protection, ensuring a safe, reliable, and future-proof installation.

Finally got this failed EICR brought up to current standards with no further issues found. A new EICR has now been issued to the homeowner along with Electrical Installation Certificates for the upgraded consumer units. ⚡

This property originally had 8 outdated consumer units, several with failed RCD protection.

All units have now been upgraded, bringing the installation in line with current regulations and ensuring the property is safe, compliant, and ready for the new tenants.

⚡️Checkout our latest garden lighting project in Eastbourne, completed following an initial design meeting with our customer.

The brief was simple: multiple lighting scenes, motion‑activated control, and no dedicated sensor lights cluttering the space.

To achieve this, we used Quinetic wireless lighting control, allowing wireless motion detection to be paired with the same paddle switch. The result? A one‑button solution for wall lights and PIR override.

The remaining switches independently control the water feature and raised‑bed uplights, giving the customer a seamless, flexible setup that looks as good as it performs.

We were called when 🐙 energy refused to install an EV Charger due to a looped supply.

Our EV charger application was approved by UKPN without restrictions, so Tobin Electrical Contractors installed a new dedicated compliant consumer unit, 6mm and data cabling to the new Ohme ePod.

Tested and certificated, complete with UKPN approval documents and Napit certification.
