From the moment you drive down the back drive at Mount Ephraim on the way to the pods, you’re surrounded by countryside views 🌿

With grass meadows, cherry orchards and rolling hills as far as the eye can see, it’s one of those places that makes you properly slow down for a minute. Fresh air, birdsong and a little escape from everyday life.

Just came across this aerial photo from July 1994 showing the pod field as an apple orchard (it’s the one directly above the left hand side of the lake). This is why we named the pods after apple varieties, Gala and Discovery. We are getting two more pods later in the summer - what should they be?

🌿 This Week in the Gardens

We’ve just added a new page on our website where you can see exactly what’s looking its best each week in the gardens.

Mid May is one of the loveliest times here at Mount Ephraim — everything is so fresh and green, the buttercup meadows are out, the wisteria is in full bloom, and the rhododendrons and azaleas are putting on a beautiful show.

If you’re thinking of visiting, it’s a lovely way to see what’s happening right now before you come along.

A little glimpse of May here at the moment 🌿

The gardens have burst into life with rhododendrons and wisteria in full bloom, everything’s that fresh, bright green, and there’s a real sense that the season is just getting going.

It’s one of our favourite times before the busier summer months arrive.

Peaceful, spacious, and just that bit more relaxed.
