Onto the next one… new extension dug and concreted today. Had to remove an old conservatory first with floor and footing also out.

Little infill job today. Soldiers completely dropped above a window so we Removed the bricks, lintel installed and bricks relaid.

Full kitchen area renovation…. By far the hardest walls we’ve ever tried to knock out for sure!
Lots of walls and doors in a small area so knocked them all out to create one big open space for a new kitchen/ diner area. Rooms stripped, all ceilings down, walls down and steels installed. Opening in the rear elevation to receive bifold doors and a door opening into garage made. Aswell a few other remedials along the way.

The before…

Our time has come to end at the barn conversion in Appleby… for now. Probably more unseen work gone into this than noticeable. Having to go 2 steps back to go 1 step forward everytime you touch something.
But the shell is finally completed. Scaffold dropped. All external stone and quoins ground out and repointed to define it more. Damaged perished bricks chopped out and replaced. Internal wall revived and built ontop of with stone and brick piers to give it that original feature inside.
New internal walls built.
Court yard completely landscaped with old bricks from the barn as edgings. Indian sandstone and gravel to finish.
Paths to the side and along the front edges slabbed.
Just awaiting window installations to really add that wow factor from the outside and over to the other trades to make the inside look pretty.

There’s been a lot of backwards steps taken for us to go forward but after a busy few months it’s finally starting to take shape and come together.
Almost all the internal walls have been skinned with a cavity insulation and blockwork. First floor joists and board installed. Up stairs walls skinned. Perished window quoins rebuilt, lintels above all openings installed and new brickwork built around the top of the building. Roof trusses on and finally some lats and felt to cover us in from the weather. No stopping us now….. feature stone wall inside to build, downstairs internal walls and repointing and replacing of damaged stone externally to look at.

Job completed earlier in the week.
Old 4” block wall without any footings buckled and become unsafe. Customer wanted us to remove and replace with new footing and a 9” dense block finished off with blue engineering brick. Also adding a fence part way and steel posts ready for customer to have some gates made.
