The transformation is officially moving outside-in! Weโve hit a massive milestone on our extension project, reaching full wind and watertight status. This means our team can comfortably power through the interior fit-out, completely shielded from the elements.
The Exterior: Sealed Against the Elements ๐งฑ๐ค๏ธ
As you can see, the exterior structure has come together beautifully:
Modern Roof Installation: The sleek, dark grey profiled roofing is down, complete with gutters, downpipes, and the framing prepped for stunning overhead roof lights.
High-Performance Wrap: The external walls are completely sealed with premium Protect TF200 Thermo insulating membrane to maximise thermal efficiency before the final cladding or render goes on.
Glazing Installed: The large bi-fold doors are fitted, ensuring the space is secure and ready to flood the future room with natural light.
The Interior: The Ultimate Insulation Envelope ๐ชต๐
Step inside, and youโll see the level of precision going into the thermal envelope:
Floor Insulation: Mannok insulation boards have been precisely laid across the entire subfloor area, creating a solid barrier against ground cold before the final screed layer is poured.
Wall & Ceiling Foil Envelope: Every single internal wall cavity and ceiling rafter has been systematically packed with IKO enertherm insulation boards.
Maximum Efficiency: This continuous thermal wrap ensures the extension will require minimal energy to heat, keeping it incredibly cozy in the winter and comfortably cool in the summer.
With the structural envelope complete and the weather firmly locked outside, we are officially ready for the next phase: first-fix services and plasterboarding!
