The Espresso Kart: From the Road to the High Street
What began as a mobile coffee unit rolling through Ayrshire has evolved into a standout name in Scotland’s specialty coffee scene. The Espresso Kart, originally known for showing up at markets, festivals, and community events, has since planted roots with two well-equipped, modern coffee bars in Kilmarnock and Prestwick. Both spaces feel right at home in their communities—clean, efficient, and unmistakably Espresso Kart.
Despite the brick-and-mortar growth, the mobile unit remains core to the brand’s identity. It’s not just part of their history—it’s a living, rolling part of their present and future.
consistently serves up Thomsons Coffee from their house hopper, with a rotating guest feature every couple of weeks. Expect to find roasts from the likes of Three Marks, Cult, and Papercup, alongside beans picked up from destinations their iconic Kart has visited—always with intention and curiosity.
Whether you’re in for the perfect pour, a standout bake, or one of their loaded bagels, you’ll always be met with warm, engaging service. Stuart, the owner, leads a team who see customer interaction as every bit as important as the coffee itself. It’s hospitality done right—backed by spotless La Marzocco machines and a passion for great coffee culture.
